Our Lady of Revelation and the Newly Published Diaries of Bruno Cornacchiola

It has only been just over two weeks since the occurrence of the Great American Eclipse at the start of St. Michael's Lent, and we have already experienced a whole plethora of foreboding events. First we had the earthquake at Ischia occurring just nine minutes after the eclipse ended on US soil, which just so happens to be the site of alleged Marian apparitions which foretell the destruction of New York City in conjunction with visions of volcanic eruptions and an entire island sinking into the sea. This earthquake destroyed the Church of St. Michael (known locally as the "Church of Purgatory"), which was right next to the alleged apparition site at Zaro in Ischia. Four days later, we had the destruction wrought by Hurricane Harvey, which was the most powerful hurricane in a decade to strike the American coast. This was followed in quick succession by North Korea's hydrogen bomb test on Sept 4th, amidst several other provocations, accompanied by a threat of an EMP attack made by its leader Kim Jong-un. Since 2nd Sept, there has been an ongoing earthquake swarm in Idaho centred on Soda Springs - a location immediately adjacent to the path of totality, and just south of the caldera of the Yellowstone supervolcano. The largest earthquake measured here was 5.3 on the Richer scale, and there are concerns of a larger quake to come. Now we have the threat of Hurricane Irma bearing down on the coast of Florida which is currently Category 5, followed by other potential threats from Hurricane Jose and Hurricane Katia.

While all of this has been taking place on the ground, the night skies have been illuminated by another occurrence of the Northern Lights, following a powerful geomagnetic storm on 6th September, 2017. It is a well-known fact that Sr. Lucia had linked the Great Aurora of 1938 with Our Lady's words in the Second Secret, concerning the beginning of World War II:

"When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father."

Scanning through the various reactions on social media, the dramatic uptick of significant events that has already taken place since the eclipse and the start of St. Michael's Lent has not went by unnoticed. In the post The Sign of Jonah and the Unbinding of Satan, we had already noted that it was a chain of catastrophic events centred around the timing of a total solar eclipse over the site of ancient Nineveh that had ripened the inhabitants' receptiveness to the words of the Prophet Jonah, causing them to repent en masse. In light of this combination of recent events, the idea that America has entered into a 40-day period of trial from the date of the eclipse to the feast of Yom Kippur/Michaelmas now no longer seems so far-fetched.

As a result of recent events concerning the timing of the Great American Eclipse and the earthquake at Ischia, I have recently returned to researching the apparition of Our Lady of Revelation to Bruno Cornacchiola in 1947, which figures prominently in the alleged apparitions at Zaro, Ischia. Upon doing so, I have discovered that the private diaries of Bruno Cornacchiola were published for the first time last year in a book called Il Veggente: Il Segreto della Tre Fontane, by the Italian journalist Saverio Gaeta (Salani, 2016). This work has yet to be translated into English, but it has already generated some intense interest in the Italian media. In his review of this book for Vatican Insider here, Andrea Torneilli highlights the following important passage from Bruno's diary - a personal journal which he was apparently instructed to keep by Our Lady herself:

"From the east a strong people, far away from God, will strike a tremendous attack, and break the sacred and sacred things."

Judging from Torneilli's review, it is difficult to determine whether if the above passage from Bruno Cornacchiola's diaries refers to the events of 9/11, or some other future event. While Torneilli notes that Our Lady of Revelation made repeated appearances to Bruno after the initial apparition in 1947, and that the attacks on the World Trade Center were among the events prophesied, it is unclear if it is the above words of Our Lady that have been interpreted as a reference to 9/11 itself, or if it concerns another event yet to happen. Without knowing the full background context, it is tempting to see a possible connection here with the current threat stemming from North Korea.

Although the apparition of Our Lady of Revelation at Tre Fontane has yet to receive full formal approval, it is widely recognized as authentic by several influential figures within the Church, including Pope Pius XII, and Pope St. John Paul II, who renamed the shrine at Tre Fontane "St. Mary of the Third Millennium at the Three Fountains" in 1997. The devotion to Our Lady of Revelation is itself actively encouraged by the Church, and overall, its status is comparable in scope to the apparition of Our Lady of Knock. It is beyond the scope of this article to go into the full details of the events behind the apparition of the Blessed Virgin at Tre Fontane. If anyone needs further details, there is plenty of other literature dealing with this subject elsewhere, such as this detailed article here at the Theotokos website. It should suffice to state that the Blessed Mother appeared to Bruno Cornacchiola in order to prevent him from assassinating Pope Pius XII. The fact that the Blessed Virgin chose the site of Tre Fontane in order to intervene in Bruno's assassination attempt is highly symbolic in itself, as this was the location of the martyrdom of St. Paul, whose death along with that of St. Peter during the Neroian persecution, foreshadows the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses during the final Passover of the Church under the Antichrist.

The diaries contain various other intriguing prophecies made by Our Lady of Revelation, which as we will dissect in more detail in a future post, are incredibly similar to the words of Sr. Lucia concerning the state of the Church during her interview with Fr. Fuentes, which in turn can be compared to the prophecies of St. Hildgard of Bingen. For now, one of the most striking aspects of this previously unpublished portion of the messages given to Bruno Cornacchiola, is the fact that they confirm my hypothesis concerning the current age of the Church being equated with the period of the unbinding of Satan at the end of the Millennium in Rev 20.

"The entire Church will undergo a tremendous trial, to clean up the mass of rotten flesh that has infiltrated into Her ministers, in particular among the Orders of poverty: a moral trial, a spiritual trial. For the time indicated in the heavenly books, priests and faithful will be placed at a perilous turning-point in the world of the lost, which will rush to the assault with whichever means: false ideologies and theologies! Supplication from both parts, the faithful and the unfaithful, will be made according to the trials. I, among you the elect, with Christ as Our Captain, will fight for you […] The wrath of Satan is no longer restrained; the Spirit of God is withdrawn from the earth, the Church will be left a widow, behold the funeral drape, She will be left to the mercy of the world. Children, become saints and sanctify yourselves more, always love each other. […] Marshal yourselves under the banner of Christ. Working in this way, you will see the fruits of victory in the awakening of consciences to the good; despite being in evil, you will see, through your cooperative and efficacious help, sinners converted and the Fold filled up with saved souls."
(The Virgin of the Revelation to Bruno Cornacchiola, the 12th of April at the Tre Fontane. Trans. by Francesca Romana at Rorate Caeli, here. Originally found in Gaeta, S. Il Veggente: Il Segreto della Tre Fontane, pp81-86)

This mention of the wrath of the Devil no longer being restrained, made by Our Lady in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War, is further confirmation that the prophetic vision of Pope Leo XIII is indeed related the short time of Satan described in Rev 20.

There are various other interesting bits of information which can be gleaned from Torneilli's review in Vatican Insider. Below is a rough translation of an extract of the book covered by Torneilli:

Several years later, on 26 January 1996, other references to threats against the Vatican: "How many dreams do you have? This night I saw St. Peter's Basilica, go on fire, and I said, 'Why is it being burned? A voice says, 'It is purifying fire to make it understand that it is the only force of life and love and it is not understood; God purifies everything in order to make everyone understand the way of truth for life. " Dear Mother, you were that voice, I recognized it. " On, March 3, 2000, in the Great Jubilee, in one of the last messages (he would die the following year) - Cornacchiola writes: "Today I had a very bad vision that made me cry. I saw a lot of blood flowing in St. Peter's, all out with the staircases and columns around and the two fountains. Well, I saw the blood drain and [shouts of?]: 'Death to the leaders!' I had a bad feeling for the Pope and others."

There is an extraordinary parallel in this vision of an attack on St. Peter's Basilica to one of the most noteworthy of the messages to emanate from the alleged apparitions at Ischia, made some time before the details found in these diaries came to light; or indeed before the current division in the Church became so pronounced.

"Pray a lot for Pope Francis, hard times await him..."

"My daughter, there will be in St. Peter's a serious and tremendous division: see the walls are stained with blood, the blood of the martyrs; there will be an uproar. If you do not pray, all of this will happen very soon.

"The dome of St. Peter's was full of smoke. Peoples in turmoil gathered in St. Peter's, people in riot. There were races that clashed with each other. It was dark, there was no light, many fought and many were lying on the ground lifeless. The dragon passed among the corpses and laughed; He was very happy. People were trying to talk to each other, but they don't understand each other. The earth was shaking, trembling all over
."
(Message to Angela, 26th June, 2014)

These words are all the more chilling in light of the recent call to arms against the Vatican issued by ISIS in late August...

I hadn't heard about the earthquake swarm or the appearance of the Northern Lights; MSN, at least, has been silent about both, concentrating on the aftermath of Harvey and the new threat of Irma.
.
Given how events at the time of the Exodus have been shown to have been a chain of events related to a volcanic eruption, it's entirely possible that these storms have grown so powerful (Harvey the strongest in decades; Irma the strongest Atlantic one in recorded history)is related to the geomagnetic storm that produced the Northern Lights.
.
We all need to pray our Rosaries daily. Also strongly recommended would be the Chaplet of Mercy, especially for the Pope, and for everyone in the path of Hurricane Irma.
.
It's a frightening time for all of us...but at the same time, it's uplifting actually to see how the ancient prophecies are beginning to come to pass.
.
God be with us all.

There was a Medjugorje message of May 2, 2016 that referenced the 'shattered crosses' of Our Lady of Revelation. Our Lady called us her Apostles of the Revelation in that message. Sister Emmanuel wrote a long reflection on the correlation of that message to Bruno Cornacchiola's experience https://sremmanuel.org/newsletter/may-2016-report/

I just couldn't stop watching the Northern Lights last night (I ended up going to bed past 5 am!)... where I live the Northern Lights aren't an unusual occurrence, and when I've been up north fishing sometimes I've seen them south of where I am even, but last night's were so intense, rippling sheets of them.

It was especially different in that there is a bright full moon, as well as a haze of smoke in the air (something that's been here all summer from all the out-of-control forest fires, we had a severe drought this year), both of which usually would block out the Northern Lights, but not this time, even with the brightness of the full moon they were pulsing and dancing, and very persistent rather than flashing and fading off again and again.

The smoke from forest fires from BC to Manitoba has made for some incredible sunsets every night, comparable to those seen in the Florida Keys for anyone who has even seen the sunsets in that area, and it also changed the colour of the Northern Lights as well from their usual ones. I'm used to seeing lots of greens and reds and very light violets in them, but by far the most predominant colour was purple, a very deep imperial-looking purple, something I've *never* seen before in them, and I've seen some pretty spectacular displays at least hundreds of times in my life.

The symbolism behind that deep shade of purple, wow! I don't know if that was because of the smoke in the air alone, but I don't think that was the sole factor because there were many icy blues as well that aren't typical of how the haze in the air changes normal colours (as in sunsets/sunrises). In fact at one point there was a wavy sheet from east to west, with the bottom that icy blue colour (which reminded me of the shade of blue Our Lady of Graces or Our Lady of Lourdes wears) slowly changing as in a gradient to the majestic purple of Our Lord's passion and reign over us all. The haze of smoke is thicker closest to the ground, so that the blue light appeared was really strange, as the haze of smoke adds more pinks and oranges in sunsets, definitely not any paler shades like blue (although light blue though, I wouldn't call this shade pale as is was also very brilliant at the same time).

The colour I associate most with Our Lady blending so seamlessly into this intense dark purple that reminded me of the strength of Our Lord's reign on earth, gave me some spiritual insight, or rather, it was a physical reinforcement of something I already know spiritually. And that overriding purple made me feel so secure in that no matter what catastrophes may hit the earth, and the Church in particular, that Our Lord is firmly in control, something again that of course I know, but the majestic sight of the Northern lights dancing and pulsing in blue and purple was like a "God-moment" for me, if anyone has even had one of those experiences where they see something in nature so pure and beautiful that it looks as if God's thumbprint left on the earth in such a tangible way.

The Lights this evening are supposed to be even better (though I can hardly imagine how last night's could ever be topped)... even if you live further south than where you can usually see the Northern Lights, I'd highly encourage anyone able to try to find somewhere without much light pollution and just look towards the Little Dipper, and if you're in a more northern locale like me, well, the whole sky was filled with them last night so I expect the same tonight, and no clouds in the forecast, yay!

In addition to the signs and events since the eclipse, there was terrible flooding in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, killing over 1,200 people. In the words of New York Times, "urban areas had no idea that dangerous weather was coming. Even some government officials said they had been given no warning." (from the article, "They thought the monsoons were calm. Then came the deadly floods")

Jason - reading your last comment reminded me of something very powerfully. I have a book in my collection - The Bones of St. Peter by John Evangelist Walsh (Doubleday, 1982). It's an account of the discovery of St. Peter's remains in a tomb under St. Peter's Basilica. It's an excellent read, if you can track down a copy.

Anyway, Peter's bones were wrapped in a purple cloth. Your purple sheets of light reminded me of this purple cloth.

I was googling the Yellowstone supervolcano and this article came up. But check out the image of the caldera in the middle of the article (coming from a news source that has nothing to do with Catholicism or prophecy). It says it was taken on October 13, 2016. That's odd, right?? Not to get too hung on dates or anything, but I thought that was weird!

Thanks for the tip Mark... I've always been interested in the discovery under that altar, and have felt like it was a very special event spiritually as well though the exact significance I'm not sure of, just a gut feeling. I mostly know about it through what my mom had taught me when I was younger, and on Wikipedia and other websites, so I definitely have an interest!

I love it when things like this happen, your book suggestion even feels like the Holy Spirit helping to bind our little online community here by speaking through each other to each other. I'm going to track that book down and order it right now!

And it doesn't feel like a coincidence that I posted on the special colour of purple, and that the purple definitely looked like a long billowing sheet in the sky aqs to remind you of what Pope St. Peter's bones were wrapped in... and, again, how the icy and vibrant blue blended so gradually and seamlessly into the purple (not unlike Our Lady's will and her Fiat blending in with that of Our Lord's will, that's what spoke to me from that amazing display of lights last night more than anything else... it had quite an impact on me and I feel I understand Our Lady's Fiat on a deeper level from seeing such a physical reminder).

@Bridget that also seems like no coincidence that the picture was taken on October 13th... I'm starting to believe lately that coincidences don't exist! I was waiting for figuratively almost all hell to break loose in late August towards the countdown to the centenary, but I was thinking in terms of human-caused strife, like war in Eastern Europe... North Korea was not on my radar at all in the last couple of years that I've developed this expectation, nor were natural disasters like Hurricane Irma. But all these events still feel connected, and no accident. I feel so blessed to have come to Emmett's book(s) and blog to help make sense of what I was feeling on a spiritual level... again, no accident I don't think! Gratitude, gratitude!!

Mark, thank you once again, I can't wait to dig into this book! I'm going to bring my laptop out to my backyard where I've already set up a place where I can lay down and even maybe sleep tonight to watch the aurora again, having the book to read at the same time should make for a very good experience.

There are many prophecies from Ann Catherine Emmerich about the "two popes" and the destruction of the Vatican, and frankly the corruption in the Catholic Church. Emmett, have you ever done any research on her? I believe she's a Blessed and her prophecies are easily found online, but I don't know how valid they are. At any rate, I'm still reading and re-reading Dupont's book (which contain her prophecies among many other) along with your blog and it seems like things are really ramping up and coming to pass. All we can do is pray, pray and pray. Thanks for all your research and sharing it with us all.

Thanks Jason! This earthquake struck just south of Mexico City, which houses the Basilica of Guadalupe. As part of my next post, I was going to concentrate on how Our Lady of Revelation appeared to Bruno Cornacchiola wearing garments closely resembling those of Our Lady of Guadalupe - a pink tunic and green mantle. Our Lady of Guadalupe wears a pink tunic and cerulean (blue-green) mantle, and of course appeared in the New World to put a stop to the wholesale slaughter of innocent victims in the widespread practice of human sacrifice in Mesoamerican culture. For this reason, Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of the Americas.
The flood issued from the mouth of the dragon in Rev 12 is intimately connected to King Herod's slaughter of the Holy Innocents in the preterist layer of interpretation. And the millstone judgement meted out to the eschatological Babylon is specifically framed as retribution for the destruction and moral corruption of innocent children.

“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. (Matt 18:5-6)

I think this is the real reason why America will suffer the brunt of the chastisement, as it has reneged on the victory achieved by Our Lady of Guadalupe. Not only has abortion been allowed to proliferate exponentially, but it is also the world's leading exporter of pornography and the culture of hedonistic/narcissistic excesses, which unfortunately, affects today's youth more so than anyone.

This video shows the appearance of blue and green earthquake lights over Mexico City, as the seismic activity was occurring. Apparently it is the strongest earthquake to strike Mexico in 100 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBMmrpiqF9A

Hi Emmett - This was a long way from Guadalupe and Mexico City. The epicenter was something like 650 - 700km (400 miles, more or less) from Mexico City.

But you mentioned the facades of churches falling. I heard on the radio on the way to work, that Oaxaca got hit very hard. Let's see if the facade of a church hasn't crumbled there. Santo Domingo de Guzman is the most famous church there, but there are others.

There have been reports of widespread structural damage in Oaxaca already.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Hi Mark, I know that the epicentre was a few hundred miles away, but apparently those videos of flashes of earthquake lights were over Mexico City itself, which I thought was odd. I'll need to confirm that it was indeed Mexico City though, and not Oaxaca. The various videos on YouTube all assert that the flashes occurred in the capital.

Emmett O'Regan said...

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption is in Oaxaca, which is rather fitting, since this feast day marks the beginning of St. Michael's Lent. Again, it seems like an intense form of spiritual warfare is occurring right now, which is spilling over into the physical world in this various phenomena.

Jason R:
The purple Northern Lights seem appropriate since purple (or violet) is the liturgical color of Lent and Advent, and we are currently in St. Michael's Lent. I see that color as another sign that we should be observing some sort of Lent. Or maybe this time could be similar to Advent in that we are in a period of waiting as well.
The puzzle pieces are coming together quite rapidly now.

Hi Emmett! Could you elaborate a little more on the reactions you've seen on social media about the bombardment of events happening?

I gotta say. From my perspective, I'm not convinced people are feeling the hand of God on them. Just a taste of what is on my social media newsfeed in terms of memes... "Don't pray. Vote for a government that believes in science." Another one, "Doesn't it feel like Trump denies climate change, and then the climate was like...hold my beer"

And from personal conversations, people are quick to jump on the astrology/horoscope train when it comes to the eclipse. It's so frustrating! That happened at a bachelorette lunch I went to over the weekend. The conversation turned back to the wedding before I could get a word in and explain (terribly and confusingly I'm sure) about Fatima and St. Michael's Lent. I feel like a majority of people would make fun of me or look at me weird. They already thought I was weird for going to Mass in the middle of a bachelorette weekend! Ah. Sorry. This turned into more of a vent/rant. Ha. : /

Emmett O'Regan said...

It also states that at the Chapel at Tre Fontane was named St. Mary of the Stairway to Heaven as a result of a vision that St. Bernard of Clairvaux experienced there, while saying Requiem Mass in the presence of Pope Innocent II. It is said that he saw the release of souls from Purgatory by way of virtue of the Mass, being led up a stairway to Heaven by a number of angels. This brings to mind the symbolism of the destruction of the Church of St. Michael at Ischia during the earthquake. Given that it is known to the locals as the Church of Purgatory, its destruction appears to symbolise the release of souls from Purgatory. I recently came across the following connection between St. Michael and the holy souls in Purgatory in the following excellent article on the Archangel:

St. Michael: Guardian of Purgatory
There is a popular conception which connects St. Michael with the judgment of men. "He is shown with the Book of Life, or holding in his hands a pair of scales wherewith to weigh the souls of men. These are figurative expressions of the part popular devotion assigned to him in the great assize. It was this conception which inspired James Russell Lowell to write his poem, 'St. Michael the Weigher.' Standing in dazzling armor, the great Archangel is pictured by him uplifting the balance in his hand and weighing:
"All mans dreaming, doing, saying,
All the failure and the pain.
All the triumph and the gain."
Not merely is he now the protecting Angel of a single people, nor even of all the faithful, but his office as here presented, would extend to all mankind. The idea is in a way suggested by the Church herself insofar as she refers to him as bringing souls from earth to the Throne of God. The priest prays at the Offertory of the Mass for the dead: 'May the standard bearer, St. Michael, lead them into the holy light.'...
In her beautiful prayers in the Mass of the dead, the Church with maternal solicitude places the souls of her departed children in the hands of St. Michael, that he may lead them into the kingdom of everlasting light. If St. Michael is so solicitous for the welfare of souls during their lifetime and at the hour of death, we may be certain that he will also befriend them during their stay in Purgatory, and will hasten to bring them consolation. "Michael, my Archangel," sings the Church, "I have established thee Prince over all souls that are to be received into My Kingdom." "Bowing down with his hands joined and placed upon the altar shortly after the elevation, the Celebrant of the Mass says: 'We most humbly beseech Thee, Almighty God, to command these things to be carried by the hands of thy holy Angel to the Altar on high, in the sight of Thy Divine Majesty, that as many as shall partake of the most sacred Body and Blood of Thy Son at this altar may be filled with every heavenly grace and blessing.'

Hi Brigid,

I was scanning over the various comments on the following Facebook page to get a sense of ordinary folks' reactions to recent events:
https://www.facebook.com/ksdktv/videos/10155746841724312/?fref=gc&dti=921738501206703&hc_location=ufi
It is a bit of a mixed bag, with dismissive atheists in there as well, as you would expect. But it seems there are a lot of people out there who are seeing the hand of God in this.
Also, it's hard to keep peoples' attention if you are talking about the significance of St. Michael's Lent in relation to the solar eclipse, the Hebrew month of Elul, Yom Kippur etc. It breaks off into so many tangents. Good on you for trying though!

MightyRighty said...

Emmett, this is very good. Really very good.
You really are on fire at the moment; long may it last.

These lines in particular, grab my attention -

"The fact that the Blessed Virgin chose the site of Tre Fontane in order to intervene in Bruno's assassination attempt is highly symbolic in itself, as this was the location of the martyrdom of St. Paul, whose death along with that of St. Peter during the Neroian persecution, foreshadows the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses during the final Passover of the Church under the Antichrist."

I have thought for a while that the Rev 12 signs will see the beginnings of the two witnesses. (I'm of the opinion that we wont see either for a few years.... unless Francis dies before that.)

It interesting to consider that, while a Holy Pope is a given, it might be that Cornacchiola himself may be a prototype for the GM - that is a 'hard man' character who is brought to God.
An example that you might understand (but non-European readers may not) is Martin McGuinness - an IRA guerilla leader and latterly peacemaker. There are quite a few of these people around with 1970s militant hangovers and 'shady' pasts throughout Europe.
Anyway, just a thought, be interested to hear with others thought.

Incidentally, if Pope Francis dies, does Benedict automatically re-become Pope?
Could this be a source of schism? Anyone?

Hi Emmett,

Another series of brilliant insights. Thank you for graciously sharing them with all of us. You are a watchman on the wall. We are indebted to people like you, who are remaining alert and awake, and having the courage to alert the rest of us; those of us who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
Curious, that all three recent major earthquakes, (post North American eclipse,) have been at sights where the Virgin Mother has appeared: Ischia; Mexico; and Akita.
Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother! Please, keep us close under the mantle of your protection. Amen.

This insight made in 1948 from Msgr. Fulton Sheen seems to be regarding the times we finds ourselves witnessing.

For anyone wanting a refresher on the messages and details from Akita. Interesting that the feast of St. Michael, September 29th, pops up again..

"The statue was carved from a single block of wood from a Katsura tree and is three feet tall. On the same day, a few of the sisters noticed drops of blood flowing from the statue's right hand. On four occasions, this act of blood flow repeated itself. The wound in the statue's hand remained until September 29, when it disappeared. On September 29, the day the wound on the statue disappeared, the sisters noticed the statue had now begun to "sweat", especially on the forehead and neck."

From the writings of later Bishop Sheen, this really jumped out for me:

"The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves. . . .

. . . The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion — one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s."

I don't write this to knock a Protestant denomination, I usually would not, but this sounds so, so much like the United Church of Canada... the doctrine of invincible ignorance and baptism of desire aside, from their website:

"For Christians, Jesus is the way we know God. Our understanding is nonetheless limited by human imagination. God is greater still and works in our world by a mysterious Spirit that knows no distinction at the doorway of a Christian chapel; Buddhist, Hindu, or Sikh temple; Aboriginal sweat lodge, Muslim mosque, or Jewish synagogue."

They are Modernism personified. People I know who are atheists are even members of the United Church here because they understand that all beliefs are welcome there, anything goes, and it is basically an organizational framework for social justice.

I'm not against social justice Per se (the Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church commissioned by Pope St. John Paul II is an excellent resource that has shaped my belief system immensely, and what Pope Leo XIII set out in "Rerum novarum" has been affirmed by every pope since), but social justice divorced from the Gospel and the authority of the Church has historically led to great evil rather than good (I'm thinking of the guillotine in revolutionary France, the gulags of the CCCP, the horrible concentration camps operating as I type in the DPRK, etc.), and I expect it always will.

Writing from the year he did, it is amazing how clearly Ven. Bishop Sheen saw what was to come, not just in blatantly anti-deist regimes like under Lenin and his successors and Mao, but in Christian churches like the United Church of Canada (the "United" comes from the fact that it was created as a merger of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Canada), which if you look at their beliefs and teachings it becomes obvious very quickly that God is a distant second to their social activism, and literally anything seems to go with them.

That they are the largest Protestant denomination in Canada is very troublesome (they are actually 2nd only to the Catholic Church in terms of religious affiliation overall in Canada actually, eclipsing even the Orthodox Church, Islam, and all the Eastern religions). Like I wrote, many acquaintances I have through work, etc., that are hard-core proselytizing atheists are members of the United Church because it really has lost the Gospel and is more like a Secular Humanist church than anything resembling Christianity.

Again, I don't mean this comment as an attacking of a religious organization out of bigotry or anything like that, just as an FYI to other folks who might be curious about how far along a church like Bishop Sheen wrote of has come to pass in Canada, and I'm guessing there are similar examples in other Western countries, too.

This is Joe from Los Angeles. I enjoy your work after discovering it on Father Richard Heilmans website. I have and am participating in hie Rosary/Prayer novena.

You and father Wolfe have a gift of combining Marian prophecies, with verifiable historical facts/dates along with Sacred Scripture and Tradition, WITHOUT making direct prophecies regarding dates and times. Father Wolfe has studied the Jewish Midrash and discovered same sex marriage and bestiality was recorded prior to the flood.

Father Wolfe has a five part series called "The Road to the Dubia" on he following channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5TgPg7QHpc3pWALGzeN89A.

I find it interesting that Bruno Cornacchiola describes a bloody scene in Rome with destroyed buildings and the bodies of religious (similar to Fatima secret revealed in 2000). Many miracles have taken place there as we. Fatima, Akita, Quito (Good Success). Knock and Tre Fontaine seem to be the four visitations decsribing out times. (Five if you include La Sallette).

I live in corrupt California where the government and Archdiocese (with some minor exceptions) are wrought with corruption, modernism and Cultural Marxism. We are due for an earthquake here in Los Angeles.

Thank you for your work. I really appreciate it. Will remember you in my prayers.

Emmett, there are so many detail connections deciphered and put together in your blog. But in my mind I am constantly drawn back to some big picture features, such as the hundreds years of Noah's preaching and building the ark, relative to the 100 years of the Fatima messages and our possible impending deluge" of a flood from the dragons mouth (Rev 12). Mary is the Ark, revealed from heaven, her womb held the Word, the fulfillment of all the law and the prophets. And she has called us to repose in her safety, her mantle.... As it was in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the Son of Man be...and she brings to us the Son.

So, Noah prepares 100 years for flood, he and his family are placed safely inside, wait 7 days, and then the floodgates of heaven and the deep itself are opened up for rain 40 days and 40 nights. A literal parallel? Foreshadowing? Jesus words "As it was" can be released at so many levels.

And Our Lady of the Revelation is the Ark that bore Jesus and shelters us now in the deluge from the dragon's mouth, to make war on the remnant of her seed? I think so. More patterns, so intervention it is difficult to follow an individual thread in the tapestry.

The 100 year time frame for Mary's request for the French King to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart is recognized, I believe, from the day of the request to the day the Revolutionary govt stripped the French King of his powers.

There are more layers, of course, than we finite humans can perceive. But I wonder if we aren't skipping over some very direct, even literal associations in Jesus words and exact patterns in history.

With prayers for strength and wisdom as the days seem to grow more precarious hour by hour, and the loving intercession of our Mother,

My thought is that we are seeing the tangible effects of the spiritual warfare, and what God allows, like the falling of a church ceiling or facade gives us a window of understanding into the reality, something like Good writing us a living in so we can focus on what needs repentance and healing. Time to fast and pray.

It's a purely scientific phenomenon from the Telegraph's point of view, but whatever the technicalities involved, one would have to be spiritually blind and deaf not to sense a deeper significance in their appearance at this particular time.

Hello Emmett, this is Sr Lorraine. Thank you for this great post that opens so many amazing avenues to consider. I never heard of the apparation to the would-be assassin of the pope. In 1985 I visited the Tre Fontane, and noticed an older-looking plaque in French about a prayer association there for the conversion of sinners. I don't know if it's still there, but perhaps the persons who were praying for that intention obtained that grace.

the part about the purification of St Peter's reminded me of the lightning strike the day when Pope Benedict resigned (if I remember correctly, unless it was the day Francis was elected).
While I don't rule out a physical strike, I think that a spiritual battle has been going on for some time centered on the Vatican. The weird things happening there (like the group of clerics at a party better described as an orgy...) indicate that satan is at work. Of course the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph, but we are seeing divisions in the Church already that are hard to comprehend.
Also, in America, it is frightening to see how quickly the anti-God agenda has taken hold. After the Supreme court decision legalizng same-sex "marriage," the transgender agenda has spread extremely rapidly. This past week, far-left Senator Diane Feinstein of California attacked a federal judicial nominee simply because of her Catholic faith.
But we have to hope because God will not let evil triumph.

I hope you guys don't mind, but I wanted to go ahead and post the message from Our Lady of Zaro to Angela that was given on Sept. 8th. This is from the official Facebook page that seems to be updated before the official website (we'll have to compare to be extra sure when the messages are updated to the website)... the message to Simona was posted as well, but this contains the most symbolism.

Message from our lady of zaro in 08.09.2017

This evening, mother presented herself as queen and mother of all peoples.
Mom was sad, she had a dress dress and she was wrapped in a green-cloak.
Under his bare feet he had the world that was seeds wrapped in his mantle, as to protect him. Mother had a long white crown of light in her right hand and on the left a roll that was resting on her chest.
Mama was sad and a tear rigava her face. On his right there was st. Michael Archangel as a great leader, immersed in a great light. He had a big balance in his hands that almost had a hard time keeping.

Praise Jesus Christ

" dear children, here I am once again in the midst of you in my blessed woods to give you peace and fill you with love.
Children Children, I love you, I love you immensely and my greatest desire is to want to save everyone.
My children, God loves you, loves you all immensely, indlstlnctly and individually.
Children, each of you is a precious pearl in the eyes of God. Each of you is a son, and as children, you must testify everywhere your immense love.
My children, I am sad and I weep for everything you suffer, mankind will be overburdened with so much suffering and the men of faith will be the most tried, but I will be there for you. Please, in the test kneel before the blessed sacrament of the altar and call upon the Holy Spirit. Hold on to the crown of the Holy Rosary and pray.
My children, the earth will tremble, tremble again, but you will not tremble, I am beside you, and I protect you. Pray, children, be prayer houses and love each other as I love you. Please listen to me."
Finally, mom has blessed everyone. In the name of the father of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

WOW. Lots to process! The balance being unsteady...??? A reference to time running short as we approach the end of St. Michael's Lent???

@Emmett - be careful.
Youre being hijacked by anti-Papists and Heretical Catholic sects.

Many of these people are encouraging you because they wish to see an Apocalypse.
These people want the destruction of the current Church and they'll dress it in any media-consumption-friendly-way they can.

As far as I can make out there is a group that seeks to press the issue that Vatican II is sinful and all Popes since are illegitimate.
Another group seeks to press the issue that Francis is illegitimate and is an anti-Pope.

A third group seeks to pull in sensationalist incidences like Eclipses and Hurricanes as 'evidence' of the end times. W even had discussions about the recent US Eclipse and attempts to tie it to scripture.
Surely scripture itself would make such an occurrence evident?
I can accept the Virgin Clothed in the Sun and the Jewish feasts as having significance but the American nonsense is just self-referential narcissism.

Many people here are living difficult lives and seek solace in scripture- not trough solace though; they seek comfort in knowing the 'other' the 'bad guys', the 'oppressors', the 'sinful' will be punished mightly.
The just will be saved and justice will be done.
The good guys will win and the bad guys will lose.

Unfortunately, approved revelation expressly tells us otherwise.
No justice will be had and the good will die with the bad; this is the message of genuine revelation. It is also the experience of true life.

Those who try to insist otherwise are entirely wrong and not in communion with either our experience, the Church or genuine Revelation.

Hard to take, but there it is.

Also, I forgot to ask... does anyone know why the publication of the messages from Our Lady of Zaro is always delayed by two days? Is that a red flag? Or no?

A few thoughts on previous comments regarding Our Lady of Zaro. St Michael bathed in a green light reminds me of Auroras Borealis and Australis during the recent solar storm. I haven't seen any sedevacantism here, or anyone questioning that the promise Our Lord made to our first pope that the gates of Hell will not prevail against her isn't still valid. If there has been, it must have been certainly very subtle because it went right over my head. As far as sharing information, I don't see that as self-referential narcissism at all either; no one is making any claims, just speculating on whether certain events are pieces to a larger puzzle. I don't know what is wrong with that, theologians have used speculation to find higher truth since the beginning of the Church... if we do the same, where is the harm? I don't see it pulling anyone away from their faith, if anything following blogs like Emmett's and contributing our own experience I think is only strengthen our collective faiths, no hurting them. That's my 2 cents anyways.

Emmett O'Regan said...

I think I see where MightyRighty may have become confused. It seems to be a misunderstanding of something I said in response to his/her question: "Incidentally, if Pope Francis dies, does Benedict automatically re-become Pope? Could this be a source of schism? Anyone?"
I answered: "Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI ceased to be pope when he abdicated. The Holy See would be sede vacante if Pope Francis dies before him."
MightyRighty seems to have misinterpreted this as some form of endorsement of sede vacantism on my behalf. That's not what I'm saying at all - not by a long shot. The Holy See becomes sede vacante each and every time a pope dies, and remains so until the next pope is elected by the conclave. The only thing I was saying is that the abdication of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is permanent, and he would not automatically become pope again if Pope Francis died before him. The Holy See would become vacant, as it always does at the death of a pope, until the election of his successor. It's not quite so controversial, MightyRighty!

Emmett O'Regan said...

Bridget, apparently the reason that there is a delay of a few days is that the messages are first screened by the theological commission established by the Bishop of Ischia for any potential errors before they are published on the website.

Emmett O'Regan said...

I'm becoming more and more convinced of the authenticity of these apparitions at Ischia, not least because of the other two earthquakes in Mexico and Japan on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin - at or near two other important apparition sites of Guadalupe and Akita. Our Lady of Revelation has been a common theme of the apparitions there throughout the course of this year, and the Blessed Virgin appeared at Tre Fontane in order to prevent Bruno Cornacchiola from assassinating Pope Pius XII, which he had planned to do so on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in 1947.

Emmett O'Regan said...

The thing that strikes me most about this latest alleged apparition at Ischia on 8th Sept, 2017, is that it depicts the Archangel Michael with a pair of scales in his hands being unbalanced. I quoted from an article which noted the symbolism of St. Michael with the scales above, quoting the following article in a comment posted at 15:52 on 8th Sept, 2017:

"St.
Michael, lead them into the holy light.'..."

Emmett O'Regan said...

I've been preoccupied with the symbolism of "St. Michael the Weigher" lately, following a pilgrimage I made to the ancient monastery site of Monasterboice in County Louth, Ireland, for the first time a few weeks ago, on 18th August, 2017. Monasterboice contains what is generally regarded as the finest and best preserved High Crosses in Ireland. While I was studying the various symbols etched into Muiredach's High Cross (dating to the 10th or 9th century), one image in particular stood out for me, because I thought it was a very unusual subject to incorporate into a High Cross. That it an image of St. Michael with a pair of scales in his hands, with the balance being dragged down at one side by the Devil. Apparently it is the only example of St. Michael being depicted in this manner on a High Cross anywhere in Ireland. Usually, they only depict biblical scenes, rather than presenting such obscure symbolism in angelology.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muiredach%27s_High_Cross

Emmett O'Regan said...

This is taken from the Wikipedia article on Muiredach's High Cross, referenced above:

"Panel 8. This panel shows three figures: Michael, the Devil, and a human. Michael is shown weighing the soul of a human in a balance. The balance is suspended by a chain upon a cross-bar above. The Devil is lying prostrated below, while attempting to pull down the empty scale of the balance to influence it in his favour. Michael also holds a staff and is thrusting it into the Devil's head. Macalister stated that this scene is not recorded on any other Irish high cross".

I was doubly struck by this image, as I came across it again a few days after I had first visited Monasterboice, when I paid a visit the Ulster Museum in Belfast. I hadn't ever taken notice of this before, but the Ulster Museum contains a life-size replica of Muiredach's High Cross. I was so taken aback about coming across the imagery on this cross so soon that I had to take a photo at the time. I think it might have been the same day as the eclipse. I'll have to check the time stamp on the photograph.
This was the reason I kept pointing to the fact that the Church of St. Michael was destroyed during the earthquake at Ischia (aka the Church of Purgatory).

Bridget said...

Oh I didn't realize this. Is it common knowledge that Pope Francis and retired Pope Benedict held a ceremony together back in July of 2013 consecrating Vatican City to St. Joseph and St. Michael the Archangel?

https://www.ncronline.org/news/vatican/pope-consecrates-vatican-city-st-joseph-st-michael-archangel

The ceremony also featured an unveiling of a new statue of St. Michael.

"Cardinal Giovanni Lajolo, retired president of the commission overseeing Vatican City State, told those assembled for the prayers that Pope Francis had decided that both his coat of arms and Pope Benedict's should be on the plaque marking the dedication of the statue of St. Michael. It also is inscribed with the date, including the notation that it was made during the eighth year of Pope Benedict's pontificate and the first year of the pontificate of Pope Francis."

I have long felt that the coming supernatural Sign of the Cross mentioned in Saint Faustina's diary will occur on the feast day of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. I also believe that this event is the one foreseen by Pope Pius IX when he wrote: "There will come a great prodigy, which will fill the world with awe. But this prodigy will be preceded by the triumph of a revolution during which the Church will go through ordeals that are beyond description."

As I see it, we are at the culmination of that "revolution" (the Freemason "Enlightenment") and those "ordeals" (internal trials of the Church as well as the exterior persecution of the Church in the cradle of Christianity in Syria which has rivaled the ancient Roman persecutions of the early Church).

I believe the event foreseen by Saint Faustina is closer than ever.

Jason R. said...

I feel rather stupid that I had to look up the Feast of the Cross (I hadn't heard of it)... the idea the what Sister St. Faustina foresaw could occur in only 2 days is hard to believe, but with everything going on it would seem the time is ripe for it, especially after we've had the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, and how it strangely was quite well-received and a cause of major interest to the media and non-Catholics as well. I love the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, I'm embarassed to say that when I say the Rosary I quite often fall asleep before I finish it (when I read that Little Flower did the same thing I didn't quite feel as bad), but the Chaplet is my favourite prayer.

I haven't read St. Fautina's diary in quite a few years, maybe right now would be a good time to do so again.

Hello, I've been reading through this site for the past few weeks (thanks to Fr. Heilman for pointing me in this direction), and it's absolutely fascinating. There are so many intricate pieces here, but as I read and reflect, I'm becoming confused about a central point. I was hoping Emmet and other astute commenters might be able to point me in the right direction.

Specifically, we seem to have indications that: 1) the period of Satan's unbinding is about to end, thus signaling a Marian era of peace during which the Gospel will spread to the ends of the earth prior to the final Chastisement; yet also 2) unless the prayer and penance of a small number of the faithful (the righteous few who could not be found in Sodom?) suffice for a society that has failed to abandon extraordinary sinfulness, a great punishment is soon coming upon all (the good and the bad, the sinful and the penitent). I recognize that we are not yet through the 40 days, but I see no signs we as a society are following Ninevah's universal repentance. My concerns are heightened by the 7-part YouTube series on "Our Lady of Revelation", indicated by a commenter above, that I have just finished watching.

I recognize that we cannot know the hour or the day or the Lord's return. What I'm trying to wrap my mind around is how those two big pieces above fit together. Many thanks, and God Bless.

Catherine,
I am by no means an expert, but having read Emmett's book and watched most of the "Our Lady of Revelation" series, my guess is that the US will experience a minor chastisement, but if this country doesn't convert like Ninevah, sometime after the April 2024 total solar eclipse, perhaps the forecast volcanic eruption/tsunami will occur. The 2017 eclipse is a first warning, and if there isn't large-scale conversion/repentance by the 2024 eclipse, then the major chastisement (the forecast destruction of Babylon in Revelation) will most likely occur. However, nothing is set in stone.
I felt the YouTube series was worthwhile in that it presented the messages Bruno received. Some of the presenter's conclusions, however, may be controversial. He condemns Medjugorie as a false apparition, he maintains that the consecration of Russia was never done, for example. But overall, it was an excellent presentation and provides a lot to ponder.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Very astute Paul! You answered as well as I could. I think that the US will be spared from a major chastisement this year, Catherine. I've been saying for some time that I think that enough will be done for at least a temporary reprieve, and allow for a period of conversion. In fact, I think America will possibly go on to become a great Catholic nation during the period of peace, before another backsliding into apostasy will heap Divine judgement upon its head. I've really no idea how this conversion will happen, or precisely when. But the epithet "harlot" was a term generally reserved for Israel itself, which suggests that America will go on to have a special, almost covenantal relationship with God. And this will cause it to be punished even more for its sins, when it eventually relapses into apostasy.
There does seem to be a general sense among the public in the past few days, since the eclipse, that there has been an unusual string of disasters. Who knows? Maybe something else will happen before St. Michael's Lent is out, to further convince people of a need for repentance.

Paul and Emmett, thank you very much for your interesting and thoughtful observations! That is most helpful. I've had difficulty sequencing everything, and what you've shared makes sense to me. I've been vacillating between thinking things are about to get better, if only for a while, and that they are about to get much worse. While the necessary preparation (sanctification) is the same in either case, it has been challenging at times to hold both scenarios in my head simultaneously. I appreciate your insights.

Sister Emmanuel's commentary on Our Lady of Revelation is very timely as The sign in the sky referred to in Revelation 12 will actually happen September 23, 2017 at 1:40 pm local time over Jerusalem. The constellation Virgo will have the moon just below its feet and the sun over her left shoulder. Mars Mercury and Venus will join the 9 stars in the constellation Leo to form the crown of 12 stars. The planet Jupiter (the king planet) is positioned in the womb of Virgo. That precise configuration has not occurred in the last 7000 years and will not occur in the next 2000 years. One can download for free software to display the heavens at any location and date/time. It is interesting that the sign in the sky will not be visible to anyone because the sun is over her left shoulder. It is a sign that is applicable only to us living today with devices that can show the configuration of the heavens during the day!

Thank you for all this fantastic information. I have read 2 of your books and am very grateful for the insight you have been granted by the Holy Spirit. I am wondering, have you been to www.watchfortheday.org and read the articles or watched the videos there? While Daniel Matson writes from the Protestant perspective, his insights are startling as well. The graphics, videos and tables he creates or links to are very helpful. I would love to integrate your insights and his into a single spreadsheet -- which would simply be overwhelming -- and to hear your thoughts on his interpretations of Scripture and the day counts. For anyone here seeking regular updates on events not always covered by national media, I recommend liking/following Daniel Matson's Facebook page, Signs of the End.

Through the other natural disasters, I noted that something else terrible occurred. Being as I can't go backwards and look for the article - I'll let you pros do it. Last week, in the Amazon, an indigenous tribe that had been discovered maybe a year or two ago, came to a tragic end. The tribe was murdered by people (or a person) from a mining company. Probably because the mining company was not allowed to mine the forest of these protected people. I'm not good for the details, just figuring. Anyway! For a few days I couldn't stop thinking that God would not allow the judgment/chastisement to come if there was in existence on the earth a pure nation who had not been told of His Son. God would wait for them to be evangelized. With the demise of this pure nation, all the world has been evangelized to God's just satisfaction. He will put the world on the scale and find it wanting in believers of His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. People have heard the Good News of Jesus, true science has pointed in the direction of Intelligent Design and people have rejected God's Word. So there is no point in the Holy Spirit to be flowing in the direction of illumination. He is done. Now, the chastisements will be increase because God has no outlets for His Love as He wants it. Blessed are those who die in the Lord!

Anon, from 12 September 2017 at 06:50,

I too have felt that the supernatural Sign of Cross prophesied by Saint Faustina in her approved private revelation is close to happening. Whether it will occur on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross remains to be seen, but I would not be surprised at all if it happened this year because, after all, this is the 100th Anniversary of Fatima where Our Lady said her Immaculate Heart would eventually Triumph. What is the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart? Answer: it is the Cross, for through her Immaculate Heart the Savior was given to us.

I believe that there are still a fair number of uncontacted peoples that have not yet received the Gospel (I think I read that there are two tribes in India that are forbidden any contact from the outside world by law in consultation with the Indian government, the Sentinelese and the Jarawas). I don't know how "sticky" that rule is that the Gospel has to be preached to the entire world... if certain small groups are legislatively isolated in the nation's who have jurisdiction over them, this seems like a large obstacle for a very relatively small amount of people to not hear the Gospel.

Hopefully this changes in the near future, not so the end times can come quicker, but because all people should hear the words of Our Lord and be able to enter the Church (I'm not ignoring baptism of desire or the concept of invincible ignorance, but it is I'm sure much easier to be granted the free gift of salvation with access to the Church in a more direct way, and above all, with the grace that we receive through the sacraments).

For anyone who might be interested, here is an article from Wikipedia about peoples that still have little to no contact with the greater world in general:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncontacted_peoples

Let's pray together that soon all people will hear the message of the Gospel and have the option to enter into the bosom of Our Lord's Church! We please ask for this gathered together virtually through Emmett's website in Your holy name Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

There are a few ‘keys’ found in the message given to Bruno, keys being information provided by Our Lady to Bruno that help us unlock some of the more cryptic Scripture passages relating to the end times.

The first key is that of Satan being unloosed in the 20th century, which yet again confirms the Pope Leo vision (again because at Medjugorje, Our Lady also spoke to Mirjana about it, and Our Lady alluded to Marija that even as the 20th century ended, Satan was and is still unchained.)

Thus, as Emmett says, we are in the season of Satan, what I refer to as the Short Time of Satan, spelled out most clearly in Rev chapter 20. There has always been much debate about the Short Time of Satan by those who study the end times in Scripture; now we know it began in the 20th century and continues even now; we are living through it.

The second apparent key has not been mentioned here as of yet. Our Lady said to Bruno,
“…The wrath of Satan is no longer restrained; the Spirit of God is withdrawn from the earth, the Church will be left a widow, behold the funeral drape, She will be left to the mercy of the world. …”

In eschatology, much debate has centered around 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 (google “he who now restrains” for an inkling of this discussion):
2 Thess 2:6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. But the one who restrains is to do so only for the present, until he is removed from the scene. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed…

Footnotes from the Ignatius Study Bible illustrate some of the discussion on these verses:

2:6 Word Study: “Restraining” found in the Greek as (2 Thess 2:6) : a verb meaning "hinder", "restrain", or "retain". It is used three times in the Thessalonian letters and 14 times elsewhere in the NT. Its usage in 2 Thessalonians is challenging to interpret. In 2 Thess 2:6, Paul speaks of a mysterious power (neuter) that holds back the man of lawlessness and delays his appearance in the world. Then, in 2 Thess 2:7, he seems to speak of a person (masculine) who performs this function until, at last, he steps out of the way and the man of lawlessness makes his terrifying debut.
The identities of this force and figure have been greatly debated in both ancient and modern times. For many, the restraining power is the law and order enforced by the Roman Empire, and the restrainer is the Roman emperor himself. Others contend that the Holy Spirit (neuter in Greek) is the restraining power and that God the Father (masculine in Greek) is the Person who issues the restraining order. Still others interpret the restraining force as the missionary efforts of the Church and the figure who embodies this mission as Paul. Unfortunately for us, Paul felt no need to describe further the restrainer because he had already instructed his readers on this point when he was with them in person (2 Thess 2:5-6).

2:7 mystery of lawlessness: The secret operation of evil in the world. Readers are already getting a taste of this through the bitter experience of persecution (2 Thess 1:4). The steady build-up of iniquity throughout history is paving the way for an explosion of evil in the last days (CCC 385).

[Hahn, Scott; Mitch, Curtis. The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament (Kindle Locations 22319-22332). Ignatius Press. Kindle Edition.]

In the message to Bruno, Our Lady makes it clear (thus ending the debate) the restrainer is the Holy Spirit (“the Spirit of God”), Who had been sent by Jesus to guide the Church but also (now clearly indicated by Our Lady at Tre Fontane) to restrain Satan while the Gospel message was spread to the nations. In his letter to the Thessalonians, then, St. Paul was speaking about the Short Time of Satan, described again later in more detail by St. John in Revelation chapter 20.

The words of Our Lady to Bruno, “the Church will be left a widow, behold the funeral drape, She will be left to the mercy of the world,” strike terror in a Catholic. However, although the Spirit of God has been withdrawn and evil has exploded throughout the world, we are not abandoned because Our Lady is here with us throughout the Short Time of Satan, beginning with Fatima, and then other apparitions, and now Medjugorje.

Indeed, Mirjana says that when Satan was granted the twentieth century to test the Church, there were three things he did not know:
— The Eternal Father would send Mary, the woman of His covenant with His people, throughout the century, to warn, encourage, and mother the souls struggling in this time of great darkness.
— The Eternal Father would permit such vast amounts of grace in the world as has never before been known in the history of mankind.
— The Eternal Father would send chosen souls who would remain faithful no matter what the allure or attack of Satan.

We are living through the hour of Satan, but also the hour of Mary, the Age of Mary predicted by St. Louis de Montfort, who said the Age of Mary would come in the last days. We are living Revelation chapter 12 when the Virgin of Revelation (identified as such to Bruno) battles Satan as she defends her offspring, the people of God, us.

Sometime between 1984 and 1985, Our Lady at Medjugorje said, “The hour has come when the demon is authorized to act with all his force and power. The present hour, is the hour of Satan.”
[This is another key telling us we are in the Short Time of Satan because this statement of Blessed Mary’s exactly echoes Rev 13:5: The beast … was given authority to act for forty-two months. ]

And in 1982 Our Lady said: “These are my last apparitions to mankind. With the events which are preparing themselves, and which are near, the power which Satan still holds, will be withdrawn from him. The present century has been under his power.”

This message between 1984 and 1985 alludes to Rev chapter 20 and Satan’s Short Time. The message of 1982 alludes to the chapters in Revelation that follow chapter 20. Chapter 20 says Satan will be released for a short time to wage war against the people of God, but is defeated and thrown into the pool of fire forever, and then the throne of God with the Just Judge on it is seen by John, and the resurrection of the dead, and the Judgement; the chapters that follow speak of the new heaven and new earth.

After the hour of Satan ends in his defeat, the End comes; Jesus returns. Our Lady no longer will need to appear in apparition form, as Heaven will unite with the new Earth and Our Lady will thus be with all of us, face to face, not just face to face with some of us in apparition. And note that in a recent message Our Lady at Medjugorje said, “When my Son comes to the earth anew, He will look for love in your hearts.”

God bless you, Greg J Cring

Emmett, you said you believe America will go on to become a great Catholic nation. That got me thinking about how Christians in America view the Rev 12 sign that's coming up. Turns out there's actually a Wikipedia page about the Rev 12 sign! Interesting. From the bottom of the page...

"An upcoming AT&T original documentary, The Sign, explores the intersections of science, religion, and history behind the Revelation 12 debate. It will air on the DirecTV AUDIENCE network on September 14th. [41]"

So the documentary airs tonight at 7pm on channel 334 if you have DirecTV. Just wanted to pass this along if anyone wants to watch it!

The Russian drill "Zapad" is in direct response to the unprecedented NATO buildup on Russia's borders. It's bad enough that Team Neocon overthrew the legitimate President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and installed a violent neo-Nazi Junta against the will of the Ukrainian people. It's bad enough that Poland has whored out her territory to NATO for the purposes of a missile "defense" shield. But then NATO had the nerve to stage the biggest troop buildup on Russia's borders since Nazi Germany prepared to invade Russia. Everything Putin has done is entirely rational and reasonable, given the nature and history of Team Neocon.

"The Russian drill "Zapad" is in direct response to the unprecedented NATO buildup on Russia's borders."

What buildup would that be? NATO put comparitively miniscule token forces in the Baltics as a sign that if Putin thought he could pull the same thing there as in Ukraine, he better think again, because he would be militarily engaging foreign NATO troops, not just Latvian, Estonian, and Lithuanian.

"It's bad enough that Team Neocon overthrew the legitimate President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and installed a violent neo-Nazi Junta against the will of the Ukrainian people."

Again, nonsense. Yanukovych emptied the Ukrainian treasury for his own personal benefit, he was as crooked as they come. And there is no Junta (the current Ukrainian government was democratically elected), and it isn't neo-Nazi (the neo-fascist parties got trounced during the general elections".

"It's bad enough that Poland has whored out her territory to NATO for the purposes of a missile "defense" shield."

So, Poland isn't allowed to freely join a military alliance for her national security purposes? Again, absolute rubbish.

But then NATO had the nerve to stage the biggest troop buildup on Russia's borders since Nazi Germany prepared to invade Russia. Everything Putin has done is entirely rational and reasonable, given the nature and history of Team Neocon."

Again, what massive troop buildup are you referring to? Numbers please. And even if they did (which they didn't), why should the Baltics not be able to get assistance in guaranteeing their national sovereignty and having their borders secured from Putin's aggression (well demonstrated in South Ossetia, the Crimea, Donbass, Central Asia, etc.

This is the same revisionist clap-trap that has been spewed out by FSB employees paid to troll Internet forums for years, and none of you assertions are borne out by actual reality whatsoever.

Anyways, back to what the OP wrote, I have grave concerns about Zapad as well being cover for the 1st Guards Tank Army to make a grab for the Baltics. At the very least, I think that Russian troops are coming to Belarus to stay, which would be hugely destabilizing for Eastern Europe (who have good and recent memory of Russian aggression and occupation). For Poland especially, to again have large numbers of Russian troops on their eastern border would be politically intolerable to them. The massive transfer in weapons and technology from the US to Poland that has been going on for a number of years has been specifically to deter Poland's perception that it needs to develop nuclear weapons as a deterrence against any possible Russian incursions on their sovereignty.

But no amount of assistance from the US would deter Poland from getting nuclear weapons if the Russian troops in Belarus are a new reality. And if Poland gets nuclear weapons, so goes Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, and once that happens, with the nuclear genie fully out of the bottle, it wouldn't be long before Saudia Arabia, Turkey, Iran, S. Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc., would very likely follow suite. After that, it would become much more a question of "when" rather than "if" when it comes to a full-blown nuclear war. That's what really is at stake here more than anything else.

I would highly recommend this website https://euvsdisinfo.eu/ for real information and news to counter the Russian propaganda and misinformation spewed out by RT, Sputnik, and frankly, anyone naive and gullible enough to believe that junk and not even bother to check for more sources.

Hello Emmett,
I've been reading this book called "In Sinu Jesu" by a Benedictine monk, his journal of prayer. It's kind of like a "He and I" (by Gabrielle Bossis) for priests. He receives words of Jesus in prayer.
Anyway, today I read a part where Jesus was saying how much he loves the Church in Ireland, and that through Eucharistic adoration the priesthood will again flourish and be renewed in holiness. He said he wants all priests to go on pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady of Knock, where he will gives abundant graces to them. I don't have the book right here but I may be able to write the direct quotes sometime soon. It's very beautiful and hopeful. That's so encouraging; I just saw an article saying this year there are only 6 new seminarians in the whole country of Ireland. So let's pray...

Jason R,

I think JPII went to his grave with a broken heart at the way in which Catholics joined the Neocon bandwagon and Russia-demonization, as JPII always dreamed of a reunification between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox and had he lived to our own days he would have been horrified at the way in which Catholics have demonized Putin and Russia while at the same time doing nothing to stop the Neocon warmongers in their own country who have waged more war and murdered more innocents since 2001 than anything Putin is alleged to have done.

As with almost every aspect of foreign policy, context is everything and this present conflict only begins to make sense if you go back to a 1990 meeting between Gorbachev and the US Sec. of State James Baker. That meeting saw a deal concluded (regrettably only with a handshake) whereby Gorbachev agreed to dismantle the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, in exchange for Baker’s promise that NATO would not expand "one inch to the east." NATO has steadily expanded since that time. It is scarcely surprising that Russia would perceive this expansion as a gross violation of trust in the West and a potential military threat given that the only reason for NATO’s existence was as a bulwark against Soviet communism. By that mandate, NATO should have been disbanded in 1990.

It was in Ukraine that Russia drew the line on NATO expansion . When the US-sponsored coup (aided by neo-Nazis like Oleh Tyahnybok, who was photographed shaking hands with McCain and Nuland) deposed the pro-Russian president Yanukovich in 2014, the NATO writing was on the wall for Putin. The seizure of the Crimea and the militarization of eastern Ukraine followed and were entirely justified given the West’s expansion and violent coup on Russia’s borders. The violent coup against Yanukovych was as evil as it was brazen and I think it even took Putin off guard that the Neocons would be that reckless and brazen so close to Russia’s borders. The idea that ordinary Ukrainians supported the violent, illegal coup against Yanukovych is pure fantasy. The reality is that ordinary Ukrainians have suffered the most since the coup of February 22, 2014. Fake President Poroshenko’s punitive war of genocide against the Donbass has claimed thousands of innocent lives, mostly ethnic Russians. The Kiev Junta is more corrupt and has more innocent blood on its hands than anything that Yanukoyvch was ever alleged to have done. It is shameful that Trump has not disavowed the Kiev Junta and it is even more shameful that the Catholic authorities in Ukraine have not condemned the violent takeover of their government by a bunch of thugs and mercenaries.

Regarding the Baltic drills and build-up, don’t play coy Jason R. There was 10 day exercise last year dubbed “Anaconda-2016” with 31,000 troops from 24 countries. Earlier this year, NATO deployed massive weaponry in Estonia, unprecedented since the end of the cold war. But don’t take my word for it, here’s what UK Defense Sec. Fallon said: “This is the start of one of the biggest deployment in Eastern Europe since the Cold War.” It is being remembered in Moscow that the last time such hostile military power amassed on Russia’s frontiers was in June 1941, when Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

And the idea that Russia poses a threat to Europe is laughable for anyone who has actually compared the size and strengths of NATO vs Russia. In conventional terms, NATO is far superior to Russia in every metric. This is why stated Russian military doctrine calls for overwhelming nuclear force when faced with a superior NATO conventional threat, like the one that is currently building in the Baltics. The situation has been deteriorating since 2001, when Bush unilaterally withdrew from the ABM Treaty, which was the cornerstone of the Cold War peace. Then the missile “shield” was installed in Poland and Romania which has offensive capability towards Russia. Talk about madness. The present situation we find ourselves in is much more dangerous than the first Cold War.

Jason R. said...

NATO has 800 troops in Estonia, 1200 in Latvia, 1200 in Lithuania, and 4000 in Poland. That's a grand total of 8,000 troops, while the Zapad exercise is in excess of 100,000 Russian and Belarus troops alone. Comparing that to Operation Barbarossa, which contained 3.8 *million* troops, is patently ridiculous. The number of NATO troops during the Cold War which faced the Warsaw Pact nations directly was still an order of magnitude above the number NATO has stationed right now. Saying that Zapad is in response to any buildup of NATO troops is just patently false as well, as Russia holds these drills every year, and in controvention to treaties they have signed, they won't allow foreign observors as is required by international law. They move the exercises every year around the compass, north, east, south, west, and it is the year for the western exercises, so they were planned far in advance of any disposition of NATO troops.

As far as the token force of NATO troops in the Baltics and Poland, these are known in military terms as "trip-wires". They are completely inadequate in size to perform any effective offensive, or defensive for the matter, operations. Their sole purpose is to act as a trigger so that if Russia were to encrouch upon the borders of any of these countries with military forces, they would be directly be attacking not just Balts or Poles, but Canadians, British, Danish, French, Albanians, Italians, Slovenes, Spanish, Germans, Belgians, Croats, Luxembourgers, Dutch, Norwegians, and, last but not least, Americans. To even insinuate that these token forces pose any threat whatsoever to Russia is the most ridiculous claim that I think I have probably heard in my entire life.

As for the rest of your narrative, it is equally pure fiction. I wouldn't even know where to start, lolol. As a single example, "Earlier this year, NATO deployed massive weaponry in Estonia, unprecedented since the end of the cold war." -> Massive weaponry?? Other than a single battalion of 800 troops they deployed *4* German Typhoon fighter-bombers... that constitutes "massive weaponry"??

Jason R. said...

...cont.

There was absolutely no treaty that entailed NATO not expanding eastwards, and nor should there have been. The countries of Eastern Europe have just as much right as any other country in the world to join any military alliance that they find advantageous and necessary to their national security. To complain otherwise is against every tenet of international law, and not just a weak argument, but no argument at all.

But speaking of treaties, there was a treaty that Russia entered into, along with the Ukraine, America, and the UK, that in trade for Ukraine giving up their nuclear weapons, Russia promised to never violate it's sovereign borders in any way, with the US and UK to back up that promise should Russia break the treaty (which historically it has been known to do on occassion, lol). So the only broken treaties here are those broken by Russia when it illegally seized the Crimean penisula and invade Eastern Ukraine.

I honestly feel sorry for you. At least the FSB stooges are getting paid, but you're disseminating pure progaganda and myth and presenting it as the truth. That you're doing so against fellow Catholics in western Ukraine, Poland, etc., makes it sicken me even more. Especially disgusting to me was the reference to Poland as a whore, after all the immense suffering that it has endured under both the Nazis and the Russians, with the Russians slaughtering thousands of priests, nuns, and religious in the opening months of the Second World War alone when it stabbed Poland in the back after secretly agreeing to carve it up with Hitler.

Anyways, we have gone around this issue before, I know that you have no intention of either seeking or telling the truth, so I'm going to refrain from causing unnecessary discord as Emmett has already commented that he didn't want this, but after someone made a mere reference to Zapad as something to keep an eye on, you pulled the scab off once again, and again in a very rude manner.

To anyone who may be reading, please, when followers of Saint Putin post these Pro-revanchist Russian fictions churned out by the Russian security agency (the FSB) through their government operated mouthpieces, Russia Today and Sputnik, and from fellow travellers or merely the incredibly gullible (especially when they don't even have the courage to use a name other than anonymous I might add), please, please, check secondary sources... don't take this stuff at face value. Again, I'd recommend the European Union website I cited above that specifically debunks Russian propaganda and disinforamtion in a very thorough manner.

Jason R. said...

p.s. ...and I think Pope St. John Paul II went to his grave that his homeland was finally free for the first time since he was a young man, and finally the yoke of Russian oppression was lifted from Poland thanks specifically to the US and her NATO allies. A broken hearted man is the last thing he would have been regarding the new freedom of his beloved homeland!

Jason R. said...

I just have to add that there are many examples Catholic prophecies that reference an invasion of Europe by Russia coming at a time when it is *least expected* (ruling out an attack by the USSR during the Cold War, when people very *much* expected a military invasion by Russia)... these prophecies from the famous stigmatic Venerable Sister Elena Aiello (who was declared Blessed on September 14, 2011, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross) being just one example, and there are many others: "

“Tremendous scourges are impending over the world, and various nations are struck by epidemics, famines, great earthquakes, terrific hurricanes, with overflowing rivers and seas, which bring ruin and death.”

“If the people do not recognize in these scourges (of nature) the warnings of Divine Mercy, and do not return to God with truly Christian living, ANOTHER TERRIBLE WAR WILL COME FROM THE EAST TO THE WEST. RUSSIA WITH HER SECRET ARMIES WILL BATTLE AMERICA; WILL OVERRUN EUROPE. The river Rhine will be overflowing with corpses and blood. Italy, also, will be harassed by a great revolution, and the Pope will suffer terribly.”"

"RUSSIA WILL MARCH UPON ALL THE NATIONS OF EUROPE, PARTICULARLY ITALY, AND WILL RAISE HER FLAG OVER THE DOME OF ST. PETER’S. Italy will be severely tried by a great revolution, and Rome will be purified in blood for its many sins, especially those of impurity! The flock is about to be dispersed and the Pope must suffer greatly.’"

I'd note that these foreseen attacks by Russia come *after* a period of "epidemics, famines, great earthquakes, terrific hurricanes, with overflowing rivers and seas, which bring ruin and death", things that we are just now beginning to see.

Prophecies such as these almost demand that at the *very* least it is worth keeping an eye on Russia's actions, which is why I find it both so bizarre and especially so unnecessary that anyone who even *mentions* Russia in any context as a potential threat, or sign of the times, or just a nation to watch with a wary eye, is instantly attacked in such an over-the-top manner. With the plethora of prophecies concerning Russia as outlined in both the DuPont and Birch books this seems to me to be incongruous to the open sharing of ideas in Emmett's comments section.

As I've written previously, there are many ideas posted that I perhaps don't personally agree with, but out of the principle of charity and mutual respect for my fellow Catholics, I don't viciously discount their beliefs, or attempt to attack them or what they have to share; I think the more insights and ideas that people share here the better, it helps in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, and attempting to shout anyone down with so much hyperbole and also provable falsehoods, especially when what they point out is perfectly inline with so much Catholic prophecy, that just is not right.

We need to be careful not to get mired down in too much specificity regarding these times we are living – which is the end of the Short Time of Satan. It is not given to us how exactly things will play out. We have generalities such as the roaring of the seas, the blood moons and darkened sun, fire, and the shaking of the earth (earthquakes). Luke 21:
25“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
26People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And 2 Peter 3:7:
The present heavens and earth have been reserved by the same word for fire, kept for the day of judgment and of destruction of the godless.

It seems the birth of the new world will come “soon” – prefaced by birth pangs. It seems minor birth pangs have begun.

God bless everyone,

Emmett has written of Our Lady appearing in Ischia with a scroll and the Book of Revelation in her hands. This is likely the scroll with seven seals mentioned in the Book of Revelation.

This scroll is also a major component of the apparitions of Our Lady to Mirjana at Medjugorje. Mirjana describes her apparition of Christmas, 1982:

When Our Lady finally appeared, she smiled gently and greeted me in her usual motherly way. I was captivated; her dress radiated the same spectacular golden color it had the previous Christmas… Our Lady and I talked about many things. We summarized our entire 18 months together— everything we had said to each other and everything she had revealed to me. She entrusted me with the tenth and final secret, and she explained that I will need to choose a priest for a special role. Ten days before the date of the event foretold in the first secret, I am to tell him what will happen and when. He and I are then supposed to pray and fast for seven days, and, three days before the event, the priest will reveal it to the world. All ten secrets will be revealed in this way… She then held out something like a rolled-up scroll, explaining that all ten secrets were written on it, and that I should show it to the priest I choose when the time comes to reveal them… She smiled in the most motherly way, and then she was gone…

I realized that I was still holding the scroll she had given me. Having always seen Our Lady as a physical being, it seemed natural at that time to take the object from her hand, just as I would from anyone. But now that the apparition was over, I was awestruck to see the scroll still with me. “How did that happen?” I wondered. “How am I holding an object from Heaven?” Like so many occurrences over the previous 18 months, I could only explain it as a mystery of God. Beige in color, the scroll was made of a material akin to parchment— not quite paper and not quite fabric, but perhaps something in between. I carefully unrolled it and found all ten secrets written in a simple and elegant cursive handwriting. There were no decorations or illustrations on the parchment; each secret was described in simple, clear words, similar to how Our Lady originally explained them to me. The secrets were not numbered, but they appeared in order, one after another, with the first secret at the top and the tenth at the bottom, and included the dates of the future events.

Later she writes, “I had long ago learned that only I could read the parchment, so I was not concerned about them seeing something they shouldn’t.”

As fantastical as it seems, apparently Our Lady has given Mirjana the sealed scroll of Revelation. While there are ten sealed “secrets” on it, the first three apparently are warning signs given by our most merciful God as a last chance for unbelievers to convert before the next seven sealed secrets unfold one by one (because these seven lead to the breaking of the power of Satan in the world, and perhaps to the return of Jesus).

God bless you,
Greg J Cring

My gut feeling is that he is good, and that's based on the religious renaissance he's overseen and his stance against the inversion of values which seems endemic in the West now. It's a tough call though and I can't be 100% sure I've got it right. Jason's arguments are certainly compelling.

We need to pray for Russia, undoubtedly, but also for ourselves, that we may be able to discern between truth and deception, or in other words, between representatives of Christ and Antichrist.

Ultimately, we are not supposed to judge if Putin is "good" or not. We should judge his policies and whatever geopolitical aims he appears to manifest through them.

Hello from Brazil, emmett ....your blog is amazing...im glad for finding this material....have you ever heard about George Washington vision of the future of usa?http://www.ushistory.org/valleyforge/washington/vision.html
Someones thinks the lady he saw was OurLady.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if you have read this, Ann Catherine Emmerich stated that the 100 years given to Lucifer (heard by Pope Leo XIII) "would begin in the year 1960"

I don't think this is accurate, can you cite where it was read? (Also note there is a lot of misinformation on the internet - someone posts an inaccuracy, and others re-post it somewhere else as if true.)

Our Lady confirmed Pope Leo's vision with the 20th century time frame at Medjugorje and alluded to it in the 1940s at Tre Fontane (approved apparition), and also at Quito, Ecuador in the 1630s (approved).

@flora The Holy Spirit being withdrawn does not mean God has abandoned us. Our Lady has been sent to us throughout the past 100 years to help us, to lead us in the battle against Satan and his forces.

As for Putin and Russia, it is best not to get lost in the weeds of how the chastisements will come. Does it matter from whence they come? No. What matters is that each f us is 'right' with God, thus Our Lady's urgent peas at Medjugorje for us to go to confession so as to reconcile with God.

Indeed Flora, the Holy Spirit is the eternally promised gift to every baptized Christian, especially confirmed - the sacrament of the Spirit.

So every believer has the Spirit, and that will never be withdrawn, "for God's gifts are irrevocable" (Romans 11.29).

Furthermore, every Church as the Eucharist. And many have daily Mass.

The internet and many private revelations are stuffed full of paralyzing fear-mongering. It is our fear which stultifies the Spirit within us, who must cooperate with our will. That which robs us of peace can never be from God.

Anonymous said...

It is not our fear which stultifies the Spirit within us, it is our sin.

Do not take the presence of the Holy Spirit for granted; Mortal sin cuts our relationship with the Spirit. Mortal sin destroys charity in the heart of man by a grave violation of God's law (CCC 1855).

We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

The great missionary saints (St. Vincent Ferrer, St Francis of Assisi among them) preached always and everywhere on the four last things (death, judgement, heaven and hell), telling us to always remember that we are going to die and then be judged. St. Jerome emphasized the four last things.

The image of St. Francis often has a skull at his feet because he preached often on death and the four last things. He sometimes kept a skull on the table while eating with younger Franciscans.

And according to tradition, St. Gerard kept a skull and cross bones on his desk to remind himself that his life on earth was not long, and that he would soon face judgment before God.

It is said St. Theresa of Avila used to drink from a skull in front of the others to remind herself and them that we are nothing but dust and that heaven is our real home.

Just as Satan being chained is not an extreme, so too the Holy Spirit being withdrawn is not an extreme. While restrained, Satan still had influence; while withdrawn, the Holy Spirit is still in those who steadfastly love and adore God.

One cannot have peace - true inner peace - without God being within him or her; God does not dwell within one steeped in sin. We become at peace when we confess our sins and remain in love with God and neighbor. Knowing we have unconfessed sins on our souls troubles us and disturbs our peace; unconfessed sin causes a subliminal fear of being judged and found wanting, thus disturbing our peace.

And so confession is a most wonderful gift! Our Lady calls us to confession at LEAST once a month, and immediately if one is in a state of mortal sin.

God bless, Greg J Cring

Expected events/signs of the End:
- A season of Satan - Satan unrestrained, restrainer of Satan removed
- Gospel message preached throughout the world as a witness to the nations
- Israel reborn as a nation
- Jerusalem no longer downtrodden by Gentiles; in the hand of the Jews
- "Elijah" preparing us for the Second Coming
- A time of Great Tribulation (persecution) like none other in history
- The Great Tribulation is cut short
- Great Apostasy - Christians falling away from God and the things of God, such as
marriage, baptism; Christians becoming Christian in name only. Lawlessness - going

While it seems unbelievable that an unknown girl from a remote village could hold the scroll from Revelation (post of 15 September 2017 at 06:11), remember that the angel Gabriel appeared to an unknown girl from the remote village of Nazareth to announce the incarnation of the one true God into the world through her. Jesu – God – was raised in obscurity; the Apostles would never have been known to us, they would have lived and died in the 1st century along with countless others who remain unknown to the ages. And remember how the chief priests and leaders were incredulous when others tried to persuade them that the man from Nazareth could be the Son of God – ‘can anything good come from Nazareth?’

So too in our day; we find it unbelievable that a simple girl from a remote part of the world could be involved in such a way with the Salvation of the world and quite possibly aiding in our preparation for the Second Coming.

We agree that we are living in the Short Time of Satan found in Revelation chapter 20. The rest of the chapter continues with the breaking of that Short Time of Satan via the return of Christ. And Our Lady says, “These are my last apparitions to mankind. With the events which are preparing themselves, and which are near, the power which Satan still holds, will be withdrawn from him. The present century has been under his power.”

Revelation speaks of seals and trumpets and bowls for wrath coming upon the world as birth pangs preparing for His return. Mirjana says the secrets she has, which are written on the sealed scroll, are grave chastisements for the world that lead to the breaking of Satan’s power in the world (according to Our Lady). It is easy to connect the dots, easy to see what is going on here, in what time we are living.

Blessed be Jesus and Mary!

Folks, I'm not as well-up in these matters as so many of you here are but I've been lurking for ages and I have made the odd comment from time to time.

With regard to the upcoming sign in the heavens, the Woman clothed in the sun, which is only a week away now, I have a query.

There is also a red dragon in the picture presented in Revelation 12. It stands before the Woman ready to devour her child. They are in the same 'frame' as it were.

I realise that this is highly symbolic language and that the events described may take years, decades or even centuries to unfold.

I am also aware, thanks to this blog, that satan has been thrown down to Earth around the time of the Millennium and I recognise that an undue torrent of filth has been spewed forth ever since.

Nonetheless, I am wondering if there is any celestial alignment coming up this week that would correspond to this red dragon.

For those of you that don't speak Irish, my apologies, but I can't resist posting an t-Athair Ó Fiannachta's luminous translation:

Ansin thaibhsigh an comhartha mór sa spéir, bean a raibh an ghrian mar bhrat uimpi agus an ghealach faoina cosa agus coróin de dhá réalta déag ar a ceann.

Bhí gin aici ina broinn, agus d’éigh sí ina híona agus ina pianta linbh.

I had the pleasure of meeting Father Ó Fiannachta on one occasion. Tá sé ar shlí na fírinne anois, beannacht Dé leis. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.

Interesting that there are some who say that Satan's period of release began in 1960, considering that the 1960s was the beginning of the chaos that eventually resulted in our current mess both in government and popular culture, where the college-aged authors of that chaos are now in control. Perhaps that's the basis for that particular rumor?
.
Of course, sin is nothing new. It was already bad enough that we were warned of WW II if humanity did not change its ways. We didn't, and the rest is, quite literally, history. Hopefully, we will not repeat that mistake.

Almost no one says 1960; don't be distracted by it. For the US 1960 was hectic but that is a provincial viewpoint. Worldwide we witnessed Russian atheism, the rise of Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Stalin, the Holocaust, and the Holodomor famine, and much more, decades before 1960.

The main bellweather is Russia - the largest Christian nation in 1917 becoming officially atheist virtually overnight right at the end of the Fatima apparition, an apparition which explicitly mentioned Russia. It is extremely rare for an apparition to mention a specific nation, and warn about it. Our Lady went so far as to ask for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. Extraordinary, actually. This is because Our Lady knew Russia was to become Satan's chosen instrument of punishment of the peoples of God around the world, echoing Rv chapter 20:8-9

Excellent points, all those those, Greg. You're right, that was a provincial view; I suppose it was just one more incident in a century full of them.

Oh, can I pick a nit here? The word is actually bellwether (no "a"). It comes from the word "wether," which is a neutered ram; it was frequently given a bell to wear. As the animal of lesser value, it wore the bell, because the sound of it served two purposes: A) it drew the attention of predators away from the more valuable ewes and rams, and B) it alerted the shepherds and guided them to exactly where the threat was. So referring to Russia as the "bellwether" is actually very apt.

I'm a retired shepherd, y'see, and over the years, I've had my eyes opened startlingly a number of times to some of those sheep parables Christ told. I have a tendency to want to "share the wealth," as it were, when the opportunity arises. ;D

1 - The fact that a storm called Maria is even brewing at this time is a remarkable co-inky-dink. Genuinely remarkable.

2- If someone says the '100 years' begins in 1960 as Ann Catherine Emmerich appears to have done, then either Ann Catherine Emmerich is wrong or Fatima AND Garabandal are wrong.
Now FOLLOW THIS LOGIC -
If Fatima is correct the 100 years ends this year.
If Garabandal is correct then the 68 year old Conchita will be alive to announce it.
If Ann Catherine Emmerich is correct the the 100 years began in 1960.

Wikipedia notes that "in 1928 the Vatican suspended the process (of beatification) when it was suspected that Clemens Brentano had fabricated some of the material that appeared in the books he wrote, and had attributed to Ann Catherine."

I do wish people would research their material before posting here.... its just reflexive ignorance to post this unsourced stuff and just muddies the waters.
Otherwise its a deliberate attempt to derail the Fatima/Garabandal Prophecy discussions.

Please cite sources for your information it makes things much easier.

This is my first post. I enjoy your books Emmett. Didn't Our Lady say in one of the appearances to Bruno that "...the Holy Spirit has been pulled back" for a period of time and that our only recourse is to the holy angels and saints? Someone in another post mentioned the apparition of Our Lady of Zaro where She said we need to call upon the Holy Spirit. If I heard correctly and understood what was written in the other post, then something does not add up... If the Holy Spirit has been temporarily pulled back, how then can we call upon Him? Did anyone else hear that or am I in error?
God Bless you all.

Karen thanks for pointing that out. As you yourself say, “if this is not a sign from God, then what are we to look for?”

The information presented in the website is simply stunning. If this is true it is the biggest coverup in history. More importantly, it is a further affirmation, if such were needed, of the integrity of the prophecies in the Book of Revelation which are now beginning to unfold with staggering accuracy.

For those who are interested have a look at the link below:

Anon 13:32, that particular author, James Dowell, did write further on this as he said he would, on Jan 27. Unfortunately he didn't go on to explain what the hidden image could be but he did say that he believed the Rapture is imminent! By the way I am not his commenter Karen - I am a complete novice, she at least has studied astronomy! Our Lady has spoken much about the Red Dragon to Fr Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests and I am interested in how, or indeed if, the dragon is represented in this coming constellation configuration. Emmett may already have discussed it - I will go back and have another look.

Karen

Anonymous said...

Karen, Mr. Dowell did find an uncensored picture, and the image of a dragon is very clear. I will admit it's entirely possible it's a Photoshopped image; after all, there's a lot of that going around on the Internet. I was thinking more along the lines of the constellation Draco (Dragon in Latin); but, like you, I'm a novice and have no real idea of the relative locations of Draco and Virgo, never having been able to see either one in the night sky (I live in a rural area, but every single house has a "security light", so there's still a lot of "light pollution," as the astronomers call it).
.
When I was a small child and first learned about the end of the world, I used to pray that I would get to be alive to see it happen; how awesome it would be to see Jesus return with my own bodily eyes! Fully understanding what's to come between now and then, that excitement is tempered by more than a little fear of the Great Tribulation. While there's every possibility that all of us here may still be alive when the End finally comes, there's an equal possibility that it's for a future generation to see. The tone of these comments suggests that everyone is just as excited as I am just to have seen the beginning of it all.
.
God bless us all.

To anonymous directly above, I share your excitement and also trepidation about the possibility of Jesus's second coming in my lifetime. For a long time, I wouldn't have even let myself think that it could be a possibility but with every passing day, it seems more and more likely. Father Gobbi, Sister Mildred Neuzil, the Medjugorje seers indicate His coming.

Mark W said...

Draco and Virgo are roughly 45 degrees of sky apart from one another. Not too far, when you consider the 360 degree nature of the sphere. But they're not neighbors either. Depending on how you measure it, there are a couple of constellations between the two.

I'm looking into the photo on the God in a Nutshell site. I'll let you know if I can duplicate it.

Mark W said...

So there is some serious weirdness happening with this "Red Dragon". I'm putting it in quotes because I just don't know what to make of it yet. Skeptical until certain, and all that.

1. The NASA pictures appear to be legit. It would require someone posting a Photoshopped picture on a NASA site for them to be off.

2. The image only exists in infrared, but there is a hint of it in the microwave range as well.

3. SkyMap labels this as HD120439. The HD stands for the Henry Draper catalogue. This particular catalogue would have been published between 1918 and 1924. Now, HD120439 is almost certainly something in the area, not the image itself. The IR image would not have been seen by Draper, but clearly this piece of sky has been examined in detail in the past.

4. I took the coordinates off the NASA image and plugged them into a couple of star chart programs. I prefer Stellarium, myself. The coordinates from NASA line up exactly with where the article says it should be.

5. Interestingly, the line of Jupiter's orbit passes just beneath the line of teeth. This is a little hard to narrow down precisely. I could be that the line of Jupiter's orbit may actually cross the lower teeth. Actually, on a second look, I think Jupiter's orbit line runs from the 4 on the right to just beneath the 1 on the bottom. It will miss the teeth, passing just beneath them.

6. However, Jupiter won't get to this point until the first week of October. To me, and this is an estimation, the center point of that line of teeth will be reached by Jupiter on around October 3. The leading edge of the teeth might be September 30th.

7. Now, the NASA image says that it covers 7.5 degrees of arc. That's interesting. Jupiter will pass within one degree of arc of this line of teeth. I can't get any closer than that, but it looks to me like it will be well under half a degree of arc. In celestial terms, this is pretty much a bullseye. Any pistol or rifle shooter will tell you that one degree of arc is exceptionally hard to master. The equivalent in rifle fire is hitting a target one inch across at 100 yards. I can't honestly even see a one inch target at 100 yards. And here we have a planet doing something twice as difficult.

I don't know what this thing is, but for it to be Photoshopped then someone in the government had to add it to the NASA database. This is really hard to imagine as a coincidence.

Mark W said...

Sorry. I confused things a wee bit. That should be one Minute of Arc (MOA), not one degree of arc. Jupiter is passing below the teeth at about 10 to 15 MOA. But still, on a cosmic scale, this is REALLY close.

Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich did not say that the unbinding of Satan would occur in 1960, but rather that sometime before the year 2000, the Devil would be unchained for a period of between 50-60 years. It is in the book The Dolourous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In it, Blessed Anne saw the binding of Satan taking place during the descent of Our Lord into Hell after His Crucifixion, which He entered in order to free the captives imprisoned there. Some people have taken Blessed Emmerich's words to mean that the unbinding of Satan was to occur between 1940-1950, and tie it to the events of the Second World War. However, once we compare it to the earliest accounts of the prophecy of Pope Leo XIII, we find that they also put the period of Satan's greater power as lasting between 50-60 years. I detail all this in my book. Also, the earliest accounts state that the conversation between God and the Devil would be continued, just as it was in the Book of Job. This tells us that Pope Leo's vision reflected the story of Job to the letter, and Satan was actually granted two separate attempts to destroy the Church, each consisting of a period of 50-60 years, making a grand total of 100-120 years. The first attempt involved the physical destruction of Job's children (corresponding to war), and the second was a plague manifested upon his own body (corresponding to apostasy). This follows the pattern outlined by Christ in His Olivet discourse, when after the series of wars and rumours of wars, the love of many would grow cold. So the first lot of 50-60 years involved war, while the second lot of 50-60 years (when the love of many grew cold) involved a stain upon the garment of the Church itself through apostasy - much akin to the visions of St. Hildegard of Bingen. So the 1960's are highlighted as the "mid-point", where the Devil changes tactics from deceiving the nations into warring with one another (causing the physical destruction of the children of the Church), to causing blemishes to appear on the Church itself. We now know that this second lot of 50-60 years involving the age of apostasy was precipitated in the Sexual Revolution, which was in many ways a counter-reaction against the wars of the first half of the 20th century. If the unbinding of Satan took place circa the year 1900, then both the years 1950 and 1960 are highlighted by the separate prophecies of Blessed Emmerich and that of Pope Leo XIII. As is the years 2000 and 2020 - when we have the next alignment of all seven classical planets. Such alignments are concerned with the "keys to death and Hades", described as seven stars held in the hands of Christ in Rev 2, which involves the opening and closing of the abyss.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Below is the exact quote of Blessed Emmerich concerning the binding of Satan during the descent of Christ into Sheol, and the period of his unbinding just before the 20th century. Pretty much demolishes Fr Iannuzzi's spiritual millennium theory:

"The tremendous explosion of oaths, curses, cries of despair, and frightful exclamations which, like a clap of thunder, burst forth when the gates of Hell were thrown open by the angels, would be difficult even to imagine; our Lord spoke first to the soul of Judas, and the angels then compelled all the demons to acknowledge and adore Jesus. They would have infinitely preferred the most frightful torments to such a humiliation; but all were obliged to submit. Many were chained down in a circle which was placed round other circles. In the centre of Hell I saw a dark and horrible-looking abyss, and into this Lucifer was cast, after being first strongly secured with chains; thick clouds of sulphurous black smoke arose from its fearful depths, and enveloped his frightful form in the dismal folds, thus effectually concealing him from every beholder. God himself had decreed this; and I was likewise told, if I remember rightly that he will be unchained for a time fifty or sixty years before the year of Christ 2000. The dates of many other events were pointed out to me which I do not now remember; but a certain number of demons are to be let loose much earlier than Lucifer, in order to tempt men, and to serve as instruments of the divine vengeance. I should think that some must be loosened even in the present day, and others will be set free in a short time."

Hi Emmett,

The news media always have to sensationalize everything! Here is a statement that you had allegedly given to Daily Star on Line along with other statements, that states Mr O’Regan told Daily Star Online: “The Third Secret of Fatima appears to suggest that the greatest threat to America is that posed by a future mega-tsunama emanating from the Canary Islands. When the seer of Fatima, Sister Lucia, was instructed to write down the contents of the Third Secret in 1944, she was shown another vision of a terrible tsunami claiming countless lives, after the collapse of a mountain.”

The title of the article is Apocalyptic mile-high MEGA-TSUNAMI ‘to wipe out US THIS WEEK – blind mystic predicts’.

A Catholic soothsayer, who correctly predicted World War 2 and the 1981 assassination attempt on John Paul II, said a huge tsunami would devastate the US, a Christian author claims.

A good video debunking the red dragon image in the stars near the woman clothed with the sun is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caH-RttUCcw

I for one do not hang my hat on the Sept 23 image in the heavens. It is one more of many signs that are occurring, but it is a rather obscure one only knowable from computer software, really. But it is a sign nonetheless. Other signs such as the four blood moons and the solar eclipse are more prominent.

I do hang my hat on the words of Jesus and Our Lady in various apparitions, words which clarify the cryptic ("sealed") meanings of certain passages related to the end of all things,
such as Blessed Mary's words at:

Quito in the 1630s (Triumph mentioned, and re-chaining of Satan),

Fatima in 1917 and later (triumph mentioned, Russia identified as instrument of punishment, Jesus says the COnsecration will shorten the tribulations),

St. Faustina in the 1930s (Final, Second coming mentioned; Jesus tell her that her work will prepare the world for His Final Coming; Our Lady tells the future saint she is to "speak to the world about His great mercy and prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge. Oh how terrible is that day! Determined is the day of justice, the day of divine wrath. The angels tremble before it. Speak to souls about this great mercy while it is still the time for granting mercy."),

Tre Fontane in 1947 and later (end of all things mentioned, end of Russian atheism and Russian conversion mentioned, "a few others [popes] will still reign on the throne, the last one, a saint, will love his enemies. Showing it, creating unity and love, he will see the victory of the Lamb"),

Medjugorje from 1981 to the present (the last apparition; Our Lady confirms the Pope Leo vision and confirms we are living in the Short Time of Satan when the demon is authorized to act with all his power, which is Rev 20, Rev 13:5); a sealed scroll with grave worldwide chastisements given to one visionary Mirjana by Our Lady, chastisements that will end once and for all the reign of Satan in the world.)

This is the Age of Mary, and she has come over the last few centuries more and more frequently to prepare us for the end of all things.

God bless you,

Hey Greg,

I haven't watched the video yet (I will whenI have a chance), but let me take a guess: It's a lens effect from the camera taking picture of a slice of the sky. The picture therefore isn't fake, it's just not what it looks like. I've been looking at it as I had time today, and it appears a bit too regular. And I know the cameras take pictures in slices, to my guess is that it has something to do with the imagery more than anything else.

"I for one do not hang my hat on the Sept 23 image in the heavens."

I suppose that's aimed at me more than anyone else, at least at the moment. Allow me to explain.

I don't "hang my hat" on the 23rd. I'm not really sure that you mean by "hang your hat", but I don't expect much to actually happen. In fact, I'd be very surprised if anything happened on either the 23rd or the 13th of October that we see here on earth. On the contrary, I strongly suspect that we'll see nothing, as all these are more geared toward the spiritual warfare going on around/above/below us. Something extraordinary may happen on the 13th that we don't even notice, but has a massive impact on the eternal rather than the temporal world. That's just my take on it.

My take on the dragon picture is actually pretty simple. It's going to end up being a computer or imagery thing. But it is odd that such an imagery glitch happened at this particular moment in that particular spot.

Anonymous said...

Nothing is directed at anybody; but I guess that means it could be said it is directed at everybody, as all of us here try to raise the awareness of those most in need about the times we are in.

I am sorry - I meant to post what it is and not be so 'mysterious' about it. It is the infrared image of the planet Saturn from the early 1980s. The man in the video explains all of this in detail - the software programs use image catalogs, and the one used for this by most of them is from a catalog of images taken in the 1980s.

And sure enough, he says, if one looks at the 198x date, one sees Saturn right there in the blacked out region. It seems those software programs know it shows up there today, which reveals they are using an old image, but also it is 'wrong' since Saturn is not there right now in that spot, so they chose to black it out in an obvious manner (he points out that if they really wanted to hide something, they would do it very carefully, making it look like sky instead of a black rectangle, thus going unnoticed.)

God bless,
Greg J Cring

Anonymous said...

Start watching the video at about 5:50 minute mark and watch for some two minutes and the explanation is covered as to how it is Saturn from the 1980s. He too does not deny signs that indicate our precarious times; he just points out that the dragon part of Sept 23 is not one of them.

"In fact, I'd be very surprised if anything happened on either the 23rd or the 13th of October that we see here on earth. On the contrary, I strongly suspect that we'll see nothing, as all these are more geared toward the spiritual warfare going on around/above/below us. Something extraordinary may happen on the 13th that we don't even notice, but has a massive impact on the eternal rather than the temporal world."

Thank you for pointing this out Mark, this is a viewpoint that I hadn't fully considered before. Although I do believe that what happens in the purely spiritual realm will reflect on events in the physical world eventually (I hate to use the phrase because it is something more associated with astrology, but to paraphrase, so above (in Heaven), so below (on Earth).

But even if that is the case, perhaps a spiritual seed (I'm reminded of the Parable of the Mustard Seed) will be planted on Oct. 13th, or on Sept. 23rd, or on Sept. 29th/30th (Michaelmas/Yom Kippur), (e.g. maybe the birth of the Great Monarch?), some event that may take years to come to its fullest fruition, but a critical event that would be marked many years after the fact as the starting point of the Marian Era of Peace (please Our Lady, and Our Lord, for the sake of Your Sorrowful Passion), or perhaps the polar opposite (the birth of the False Propher or Antichrist)...

Though I feel a great spiritual turning on the immediate horizon, I perhaps lack the Gift of Discernment enough to know how much are based on the sum of my anxieties about the state of the world, and how much is based on the 33 years between Pope Leo XIII's vision of Oct. 13, 1884, to the Miracle of the Sun and sixth (and final) appearance of Our Lady at Fatima on Oct. 13, 1917, and even the third message from Our Lady of Akita, the one that seems to echo Sr. Lucia's 1944 Tuy apparition so closely, that was received on another Oct. 13, 1973, a message that fills me with a real fear and trembling of Our Lord's Perfect Righteousness (while never forgetting His equally Divine Mercy):

"My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior. As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity...the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayer of the Rosary. With the Rosary pray for the Pope, bishops and the priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them. With courage, speak to your superior. He will know how to encourage each one of you to pray and to accomplish works of reparation. It is Bishop Ito, who directs your community. You have still something to ask? Today is the last time that I will speak to you in living voice. From now on you will obey the one sent to you and your superior. Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved."

...cont.

I know people have probably read this 3rd message at Akita dozens of times, but because it occurred on that same date of Oct. 13th, I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post it once more, thought the 44 years between the 1973 message and the upcoming centenary doesn't seem to hold as much (obvious) significance as the 33 years.

Anyways, I'm rambling, but, yes, my main point is that I can see through the way you explained it Mark that what could occur on Oct. 13th may not be readily apparent in the temporal realm, or perhaps even not at all, though my gut tells me that what happens in Heaven (and Hell) and all spiritual points in-between must have some kind of manifestation in the temporal realm, even if very subtle, or not immediately apparent. A more secular example is when Japan invaded Manchuria in 1933. Some scholars of the Second World War with a less European-centered focus tag this as the starting point of the war rather than Sept. 1st, 1939 (though Germany and Hungary which started on Oct. 1st 1938 as the best starting point, but I'm getting off track again).

I'm sure also no one imagined that the first battles of the 100 Years War, or the 30 Years War, would result in such unprecedented carnage, especially in the latter example. So may we find that something that may shake the world to its core, or may be the beginning of the beginning of the promised Marian era of peace, however short that may turn out to be, in its fruition may be planted so to speak on Oct. 13th. I've been of the mind that a major war (up to and included a full world-wide nuclear war), or natural catastrophe, or disaster of a decidedly supernatural nature, would occur as Satan is in the death throes of his short time, if it is indeed 100 years in length, and did start on Oct. 13th, 1917, and perhaps a chastisement as big as a nuclear war would be needed to turn such a deeply hedonistic, materialistic, and increasingly atheistic world back to an understanding and acknowledgement of how we all survive only through the grace of God, something akin to the Flood, or the Babylonian Captivity.

But with what Emmett wrote about Blessed Anna Katharina Emmerick's remarks in the Dolourous Passion of the Christ, that the short time of Satan that Pope Leo heard was not consecutive, but two periods of from 50 to 60 years each, that kind of blows my "pet" theory and timelines out of the water. Perhaps this is a good lesson for me not to get so hung up on dates... but rather use them as roadsides on the way to the unfolding of prophecy, somewhat like the prophecy about the destruction of Damascus in Isaiah 17 that has yet to occur, or temporal events like today the USA officially opening up their first permanent military base in Israel ever (something that I think may be significant). I really am too tired to be writing probably, I'm a bit all over the place, so I'll just end by saying thank you for this insight Mark!

P.s. The Kurdish vote on independence on Sept. 25th, a move supported only by Israel (even the US who have been the Kurds biggest benefactors are against it) could be a *massively* destabilizong event in a Middle East already very destabilized... just another in a series of current world events to keep an eye on I think.

How did you come across that article so quickly Rick? Yes, it's quite funny that it has to be a mile high and this week!

I agree with all of you who say these signs are significant in regards to the spiritual battle being fought. (And that it will boil over into our physical world as we are fighting in this battle as well). Therefore, I think the image of Saturn in the NASA pictures, while explainable (aren't all the signs in the heavens explainable after all?) is still quite possibly meant as the symbolic image of the red dragon from Revelation.

We can't change or even stop what God has put into motion. Our prayers and sacrifices may help to ease what is to come or shorten its duration, but it cannot be stopped. The all-knowing God has dictated the time. So we should not be worried, concerned, or even horrified but rather prepared.

Conversations such as these help us all to be better prepared. God bless!

"These have all occurred:
- 20th century until now: A season of Satan - Satan unrestrained, restrainer of Satan
removed
- May 14, 1948: Israel reborn as a nation
- June 7, 1967: Jerusalem no longer downtrodden by Gentiles; in the hand of the Jews"

Yes, I think Jerusalem being no longer trodden down by Gentiles in the year 1967 is part of a hermeneutical key to calculating the various prophecies of days=years given in the Book of Daniel. The relevant passage in Luke 21 can be directly linked to the period of 1,260 "days" given in Rev 11, which is the duration for when the Holy City is trampled under the feet of the Gentiles.

"They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." (Luke 21:24)

Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” (Rev 11:1-3)

So the "times of the Gentiles" is measured upon the location of the Temple of God and lasts for 1,260 "days". It is no coincidence that the duration of time from when construction began on the Dome of the Rock on 688AD to the restoration of Israel lasted for 1,260 years. Also, the separate figure of 2,300 "days" given in the Book of Daniel is also firmly dated to the Battle of Issus in 333BC, as is attested by St. Jerome in his commentary on Daniel. Calculating 2,300 years from 333BC brings us up to the year 1966, and we are told that the "sanctuary would be restored to its rightful state" after the 2,300 "days" was over - i.e. the year 1967. This is when the time of the Gentiles was fulfilled, exactly to the year stipulated in Scripture. 33 years after this, we have the appearance of the signs in heaven at the turn of the millennium, which forms the next part of the passage in Luke 21.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?” And he said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.” (Dan 8:13-14)

They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Luke 21:24-26)

The Mother of God forum certainly seems to have most of the facts, but I'm not sure about their statement that the volcano will erupt next week. While we can deduce in a general sort of way roughly when things will occur, it's impossible to pin down dates, something we're advised against in any case. Additionally, their statement that it will be the end of the world is WAY off the mark. While it is true that oceanic flooding has been extraordinary in the past few years, and it is also true that the world has definitely sat up and taken notice, especially in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, as well as other unusual phenomena experienced elsewhere in the world during that span, I don't think the end of the world is imminent. Too much else has to happen first. We still have not had the era of peace or the Second Pentecost, and the Antichrist certainly hasn't put in an appearance yet. We still have time to "get right with God," as the saying goes. While temporal preparations are important, nothing overshadows the importance of ensuring, as much as possible within our human limitations, that we are in God's grace when the time comes.

God bless.

With reference to Enoch and Elias, I'm 2/3 way through the mystical city of god by mother mary agreda- this is essentially the life of the blessed Virgin Mary as dictated by Mary herself through interior visions to Mother Agreda. I just read a passage on the last supper that indicated that Enoch and Elias were present at this and experienced the first Eucharist, administered by St Peter. "This holy communion so rejoiced the men that they were encouraged anew in their hope of the beatific vision which for them was to be deferred for so many ages...until the end of the world". They are still in their mortal flesh and abiding presumably in some supernatural place awaiting their time.

I don't know if using the example if Russia being on Canada's borders is such a good one Chris, as they absolutely are. Maybe it isn't big news in other countries, but Russia violating our northern borders has caused much consternation in Canada, and they have repeatedly, even challenging the validity of our control over our northern region despite our borders being accepted fact for a very long time. But I can't argue against the whole NWO theory; I respect your opinion but will politely agree to disagree (though I will speak out when I read any Russian propaganda that are very provable out-right lies). Russia bombing areas that contain US advisors in Syria is worrisome to me, as well as the huge military and other support the have provided Iran and Hezbollah (with no end in sight), among other things. But I digress, as I wrote before I know Emmett doesn't want this to become a "Russia vs. NATO, who are the real bad guys" debating society. But, also again, because of so many prophecies of Russia invading and taking over all of Europe, especially at a time when it is least expected, that alone should make it clear that they are a pivotal country to at least watch, if nothing else.

Anyways, with Hurricane Maria at Cat 5 and taking close to the sane route as Irma, the latest large earthquake in Mexico, Trump declaring the intention to potentially destroy North Korea at the UN (which undoubtedly means a full-scale nuclear attack), yikes, it seems events that seem to be the fulfillment of prophecy are cobtibuing unabated.

In addition to what I wrote above about how serious a flashpoint a unilaterally declared Kurdish state in Northern Iraq is undoubtedly to become, I'm watching the Oct. 1st vote in Catalonia closely as well... if it passes (which it inevitably will) I don't see any signs of the Spanish government letting go... I wonder if there is large scale suppression by the Spanish federal government if this could be a spark to an internal revolution (and maybe a beginning of the European revolutions of Catholic prophecy in general)?

Catalonia referendum: Spanish raid on Unipost deals blow to vote - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-41325663

Having lived through two Quebecois referendums here at home, the last one being defeated by the smallest of margins, I can attest to how much irrational hatred on both the Francophones and Anglophone sides these types of things cause. The Quebec General Assembly has never ratified our Constitution, and despite being acknowledged as a distinct nation in Canada if not a nation-state, Quebec separatism is always on a low boil here that could spill over on a moment's notice. I dont see it as at all inconceivable to see a full-scale civil war in Canada in my lifetime as Montreal, as one example, has made it clear that if Quebec ever does vote to separate they have no intention of going along with them.

The havoc just a few independence movements could have in just a few regions should not be underestimated. The geopolitical world seems at such an unsteady balance that a Catalonia, a Kurdistan, a Khalistan in the Punjab... seemingly fairly minor changes could set off huge conflicts and civil strife as foreseen.

A previous post says:
"I don't think the end of the world is imminent. Too much else has to happen first. We still have not had the era of peace or the Second Pentecost, and the Antichrist certainly hasn't put in an appearance yet."

Some would argue we are in the period of peace right now; that it began in 1984 and ends in 2017 or 33 years, or maybe a little longer.
Also, they would argue the Second Pentecost IS the end of the present world, when the Holy Spirit in fire renews the earth.

Jesus fulfilled the first three Levitical feasts in one week - Holy Week - and the fourth was fulfilled 50 days after the Resurrection. When things really 'kick off', I think it will all happen quite quickly, and that is why God in His mercy is giving us such a long runway to the Final Coming. The last 3 feasts (of the 7 Levitical feasts) happen in Autumn, just a few weeks apart from one another. (It is thought by many that just as Jesus fulfilled the first 3 Levitical feasts, and sent the Holy Spirit for the fourth, the remaining 3 will be fulilled by Him when He comes again - some Autumn of the future.)

The catastrophes since the eclipse are many. Also note at Medjugorje at the Sept 2 apparition, the demons who manifested this time were way more than the usual amount. Is it because they know their time is very short now?

Pat says
Fr Gobbi said that Our Lady told him that the Red Dragon represents Marxist Atheism (and I mention Fr Gobbi here as I know that Emmett has referenced him before).

At some stage the spiritual battles happening 'above' are going to come 'down' to us and probably very quickly. Is that time not near?

Marxist Atheism, in its worst form, is what we have in N Korea today.
The 'Woman clothed with the sun' and the birthing of the King planet is announcing the Second Coming. However, the time is not ready for this yet and the 'child was taken straight up to God and to his throne'.
The dragon knows the end is in sight and enraged, through the remaining bastions of communism, is ready to cause trouble.

N Korea is very dangerous and there are those who will use it to bring about havoc in the world. Just as the lights over Europe before WW2 were seen by Hitler and his generals as a good omen for war how will the 'signs in Heaven' be interpreted by the elite who are princes of this world? Is the time ripe to collapse the world economy? It is going to happen at some stage. Will N Korea be used as the fall guy? The January 1988 edition of the Economist predicted a one world currency by 2018. The elite usually tell us what they are going to do before they do it - they see some type of honor in this.
Essentially what I am trying to write, but poorly, is that we need to be ready. There will come a period where we will need lots of perseverance and trust in God before the promised era of peace arrives.
I hasten to add that I know very little but we all need to be ready.
God bless,

It seems like some sort of bizarre dream. A second earthquake in Mexico is getting closer to the home of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, almost like a pilgrimage path is being traced out, while a hurricane named Maria is battering the islands of Guadeloupe, the Virgin Islands (at a place called St. Croix or "Holy Cross"), the island of St. Lucia, Dominica (after St. Dominic, who instituted the Holy Rosary), while another hurricane called Jose (Joseph) is still swirling about in the Atlantic. There is another connection to St. Lucia in that the patron saint of Ischia, St. John Joseph of the Cross, lived and died in the convent of St. Lucia in Naples, where his relics are still kept. But, maybe I'm reading too much into things???

Emmett O'Regan said...

A computer simulated asteroid hits in the Atlantic in 2880 would create 400 ft. waves.

My guess would be an asteroid traveling at a gazillion mph hitting the earth would generate much larger waves by what do I know.

The largest ever in the world tsunami recorded was in Alaska in ‘58 and it was about 1,700 feet tall.

So what the heck could create a mile high tsunami?? Any guesses?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/3963563.stm

Interestingly Emmett, this site debunks your theory about the Canary Island scenario you stated. Are you familiar with this?

>>>In 1999, a small team of scientists came up with this idea that the island would fall into the ocean and create a mega tsunami. Those scientists have been discredited, and it is believed their hypothesis was nothing more than an attempt to gain fame and fortune. A writer, Ian Gurney, who specializes in writing about potential catastrophes, latched onto this idea and gave it a lot of publicity. If you choose to believe this could happen, it would be estimated that the wave would travel inland 20 miles all along the Atlantic coast. As I stated above, how long the water would remain on the land depends entirely on the altitude and lay of the land.<<<

Greg, I cannot agree that the world has been at peace for 33 years. If you're focusing solely on the US, then yes, that nation has been at peace...but only sort of. After all, there was Granada, and Desert Shield/Storm, none of which affected the American mainland. But like my earlier statement about the chaos of the 1960s, it's a provincial view. The 1980s and 90s were full of all sorts of UN actions in smaller nations all over the world as they began trying to break way from the behemoth USSR, or trying to establish themselves after that monster's collapse; a genocide in Africa; and various small nations in the Middle East struggling for independence, if not against the nascent al-Qaida. There have also been the struggles going on in various South American and Mesoamerican nations, not to mention the outright shooting wars between law enforcement and the major drug cartels. That is not peace, not by any stretch of the imagination.

Mighty Righty: If Maria and Jose joined up, that would not a subtle sign, but more along the lines of an in-your-face Divine intervention, considering that, as of about 20 minutes ago, Maria was over Puerto Rico, and Jose (down to a tropical storm)is off the end of Long Island in New York. It definitely would be something if it were to happen, and makes interesting food for thought, but that's about it.

Yes, I'm aware of the counter-arguments Sam. But they themselves have been refuted by the original team of geophysicists and others. They also seem to be sponsored in some way by the tourism industry in the Canaries. It also fails to take into account the potential level of explosivity of the particular eruption, which is usually given in quite conservative estimates by all the scientists involved. I don't know where the Daily Star got that mile-high thing. It is quite absurd.

But it is a dream from which there is no waking. Or escaping. The connections are real, so we are seeing and living the flood pouring out of the dragon's mouth, as he attacks the children of the Woman. The places it attacks have been previously graced by Marian apparitions or the warned by dreams from heaven. She has covered us with her mantle, while the darkness and miasma flow. My mind and heart and spirit tell me that the swirling vortex of cataclysm is not only underway but in full force. Thanks be to God for the shelter of her mantle. Pray, fast and pray even more. Sept 23 is the day the stars are in position matching that imprint on Mary's Tilma (only in reverse, I think?) As she says, "Am I, your mother, not here?" She is our courage to endure, and our wisdom to understand.

As for the rest, my own particular view is that this Rev 12 sign heralds the rise of the Great Monarch and/or Holy Pope.
we may not see the GM for 20 years or so, the HP likely before then but this weekend - in my opinion only - will see events in their lives/careers which will later been seen to be significant in retrospect.
Again, this is just an example so dont get up in a flap about it but its worth remembering that the German Federal Elections take place on Sunday.
Its possible a future character of significance could emerge here.

To be clear I do NOT think this will happen but its the kind of thing that could happen.

@JMC et al "Some time of peace" as used by Our Lady of Fatima did not mean the absence of war. It meant a time granted to reconcile with God. By the First Saturday reparations and the Consecration to her most pure heart, Our Lady obtained this time for us, during which she appears at Medjugorje, an appearance she has directly connected to Fatima. Notably she appears under the title Queen of Peace (Queen of Reconciliation, if you will). When this granted time to reconcile with God ends, if enough have not turned back to Him, His punishments first announced at Fatima will continue but even more forcefully - the full weight of God's justice will fall; these are the grave secrets the visionaries hold. The unfolding of the chastisements will end the reign of Satan in the world - in the end Our Lady' Immaculate Heart will triumph once and for all over him, crushing his head; he will be cast into the abyss. All that has happened in the last century until now is of our war against God, the final battle of Gog/Magog, the battle in Revelation chapter 20.

God bless you,
Greg J Cring

P.S. Remember, the Vatican Commission investigating Medjugorje ruled that at least the first 7 apparitions are genuine. Their report has been given over to the Pope.

That's good information to know Greg, but I have to admit I feel rather disheartened because I was interpreting "a period of peace" in a much too literal way I think. :(

Not to say extra time for the world (and me personally) to have extra time granted to reconcile and have a full conversion experience to Our Lord isn't miraculous, but I have to admit I was looking forward to a time (under the reign of the Great Monarch maybe?) of a really literal period of peace when wars would be unheard of, etc. Or maybe that will still happen as a lot of the prophecies about the Great Monarch seem to indicate apart from the period of peace alluded to at Fatima?

Well, I guess in the end, a true and complete peace everyone can at least hope for is when we join the Church Trumphant (please Jesus) when we pass on.

Francesca, you've referred to Our Lady covering the earth with her mantle in a protective gesture a few times. Are you aware that this motif is predominant in the icons of Our Lady of Mercy, whose feast is celebrated on Sept 24th?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_of_Mercy

This is of course the day after the Rev 12 sign. Coincidently, this is also the solemnity of Our Lady of Walsingham, whose devotion is tied to Our Lady of Ransom - aka Our Lady of the Dowry. England itself is the Dowry of Mary. This seems to be pointing toward the conversion of England, which Our Lady of La Salette foretold would bring about the restoration of Catholicism throughout the world.

I guess so much hinges on just when the 100 years of Satan's greater power began. I contend that it began in 1917, the year that Christian Russia (which had been Christian for hundreds of years) was hijacked by a largely Jewish, atheist, Freemason revolution. The descendants of those revolutionaries are now firmly in control of the once Christian West and have brought us to the brink of war with a converted Russia, the only nation on earth that is currently defending the rights of Christians at home and abroad. Since 2001, Fatima has literally played out in realtime on the world stage as the West confronts a converted Russia. How it ends is largely up to the West at this late stage, not Russia.

Our Lady is the penultimate strategist and scholar of prophecy. She was aware of the Old Testament prophecies of the coming Messiah and knew what her "Yes" to Gabriel would entail. I think therefore that there is probably a special place in her heart for all of us who are trying to sort out the current prophetic signs. Really all we can do is to continue to offer up prayers and sacrifices in hopes that Chastisment will be averted.

The Rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham has recently announced that England will be re dedicated as Our Lady' Dowry on the feast of the Annunciation 2020 and that the next couple of years must be a time of prayer in preparation for this. http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2017/09/14/england-to-be-re-dedicated-as-dowry-of-mary/

I vaguely remember hearing something about this, but I didn't realise that it was taking place in the year 2020. I think that year has already been marked out as of some significance by the alignment of all seven of the classical planets on July 4th, 2020, which I think will see the final closing of the gates of the abyss. The alignment of all seven classical planets (the keys to death and Hades held in the hands of Christ) in 1899 marked the opening of the abyss and the start of the short time of Satan. This was followed by the alignment of all seven classical planets in 1962, which I believe marked the "mid-point" in the short time of Satan, when the Devil returned before the throne of God to request another attempt to destroy the Church, this time by manifesting a plague on the body of the Church itself (represented by Job). It was also the year the world was spared from nuclear annihilation for the first time (the next in 1985). The next such alignment took place on May 5th, 2000, signifying the moment when the head of the Serpent was crushed under the feet of the Blessed Virgin and thrown down to earth in great fury, on the Great Jubilee Year of the Incarnation. The revelation of the Third Secret was announced just a few days later on May 13th, 2000, providing an essential key to understanding the end-times events described in Sacred Scripture. Now we find that the world is once again standing on the brink of nuclear self-destruction at this very moment in time, with the President of the United States threatening to destroy another country which possesses nuclear capabilities of its own. The world can only be spared through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, and the rays which emanate from her hands to stay the hand of the angel with the flaming sword, on the centenary of Fatima.
This next alignment in 2020 will then surely signify the closing of the abyss to allow for the fullness of the Gentiles to be brought into the Church before the conversion of the Jews. As Pope Leo XIII foretold: “When England returns to Walsingham, Our Lady will return to England.”

The Catholic Television Network, EWTN, opened a Television Studio at Walsingham just recently so we can expect television coverage of the re-dedication of England to the Virgin.

As a U.S. Catholic, I sometimes wonder, "Where is "our" Mary?" I don't mean that in a selfish tone, I just don't know how else to phrase it. I know Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas, but I really only associate her with Mexico/Latin America. If America is indeed Babylon, playing a huge role in the end times, isn't it odd that we don't have a well known Marian apparition to identify with? I did a little research and came across this article about Our Lady of Good Help. The first Marian apparition site approved back in 2010. I always think of the big three...Guadalupe, Lourdes, and Fatima. Interesting that the Bishop makes a connection with Lourdes...

https://www.google.com/amp/www.catholicnewsagency.com/amp/news/wisconsin-chapel-approved-as-first-us-marian-apparition-site/

"Bishop Ricken explained that he has heard “story after story” of “incredible” cures and conversions – and understands that the events of October 9, 1859 are still having life-changing effects among the faithful. Like the famous French apparition site at Lourdes, the shrine in Champion has a collection of crutches that pilgrims have discarded as unnecessary after receiving healing there.

"Fr. John Doefler, rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, indicated there could be an even more profound connection between the Blessed Virgin's appearance in Lourdes, and the apparition to Adele Brise. He pointed out that she had appeared to Adele Brise one year after her appearances to St. Bernadette Soubirous, and announced herself in a way that connected both events.

“In Lourdes, Mary identifies herself as the Immaculate Conception,” Fr. Doefler explained. “Here, she identifies herself as the Queen of Heaven … Between the two of them, it encompasses all of the Marian mysteries” – from the very beginning of her life, to its culmination in “the Assumption and the Coronation.”

I'm also aware of the folktale about George Washington's vision of Mary that gets floated around from time to time. I think it's interesting that is was debunked in 1917. From Snopes.com...

http://www.snopes.com/history/american/vision.asp

"As the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research noted of “Washington’s Vision” and “General McClellan’s Dream” in 1917:

It seemed to us that the remarks which prefaced the dream itself plainly intimated that the latter was a literary production written for a patriotic purpose.

The [article] is from the pen of Wesley Bradshaw, Esq., and makes a fitting companion to “Washington’s Vision,” which sketch, written by the same author, at the commencement of our national difficulties, was widely copied by the press, and commended by Hon. Edward Everett as “teaching a highly important lesson to every true lover of his country.” There is here no attempt to put forth the “dream” as authentic. It is a “sketch” written by a gentleman who shortly before had written another sketch about a dream or vision attributed to Washington."

Apparently the tale picked up steam again in 2001 after the events of 9/11 when America needed a boost of patriotism.

"Our" Mary is the Immaculate Conception, to whom this nation was dedicated not long after its inception. That's why the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a holy day of obligation in the US, just as Our Lady of Guadalupe is a holy day of obligation in Mexico, celebrated by Catholic Mexicans with a literal feast, and often with a pageant presenting her appearance at Tepejak (sp?). (The Mexican members of my parish put on a wonderful pageant every year, featuring a beautiful replica of the tilma.)

As for the period of peace...I firmly believe the literal interpretation of that is the correct one. After all, Our Lady appeared at Fatima right after the Pope prayed earnestly to the Blessed Virgin for an end to WW I, and she came and promised peace right in the middle of said war. At that point in time, man's main focus was on peace as in the absence of war. I seriously think she would have been more explicit if she had meant anything else.

A good article about Our Lady of Guadalupe by the archbishop of Los Angeles.

Fun fact from the article-

"Juan Diego was baptized with his wife, María Lucia, in 1524. They were among the first converts in the New World and were one of the first Catholic married couples in the Americas."

Neat!

I noticed that the September 8 messages of Our Lady of Zaro have still not been posted to the website (even though they were on the Facebook page). I had thought these are usually posted a few days later, following official review. That was the case even in the aftermath of the earthquake, which might have been expected to disrupt the process a bit. Thus, it seems somewhat odd that they have been so long delayed this time. Any sense of why that might be?

Bridget and all,
We DO have Our Lady of America. I'm not referring to Our Lady of Good Help, but I'm referring to the title Mary gave herself in the visions of Sr. Ephrem. It has never picked up a huge following however because of the division between this organization:
http://www.ourladyofamerica.com/

Who contend that they are the sole purveyers of the message so as not to have it "corrupted" and have "copyrighted" some of Sr. Ephrem private messages of our Lady. However, there is a lot of other info on line--here are some links:

http://www.jkmi.com/our-lady-of-america

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=10&v=IsODGx_zL5Y

Our Lady asked that a statue of Our Lady of America be placed in her Basilica in Washington D.C.so people could come there on pilgrimage and promised spiritual healing for those who would do so. However, that request has not yet been accomplished. I personally was able to visit the place where Sr. Ephrem received some of these messages and visions in Indiana. It's a very convoluted story as the prayer to OLOA had been approved but the visions have not been. Cardinal Burke has blessed the statue of Our Lady of America:

http://www.ourladyofamerica.org/USCCB_11_13_06.php

However, The statue I believe is being housed in the St. John Paul 2 Center in Washington D.C.

P.S.
Just to reiterate that Our Lady of America is considered a private revelation, but if you read the endorsement of Cardinal Burke, I think you would agree that it does have merit.

Rose, I also know of the Our Lady of America devotion. I called the St. John Paul II Center in Washington D.C. a year ago to ask about the statue and the person there told me that the statue is no longer located at the center. Just two days ago I wrote the rector of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception to ask if they would fulfill Our Lady of America's request to have a statue of Our Lady of America within the Basilica, but he said that until the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops recommend the statue's procession and enthronement in the Basilica, he would be unable to allow the statue to be in the Basilica. I think the rector may feel that after all they honor Our Lady under so many titles, what difference would this request make. I would just say that if Our Lady asks something, why not do it? She asked Juan Diego to ask the Bishop for a church on Tepeyac Hill. She asked for a church in Lourdes. She asked for the 5 first Saturday devotion of Sister Lucia. Our Lady has a habit of requesting things and it seems the quicker we do what She asks, the better off we will be. Just my thoughts, Mary

Our Lady of America promised the graces from fulfilling her wish that the statue of Our Lady of America (which is waiting either in the Basilica or in the JPII Center be processed by the Bishops of the US into the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception would be greater than those from Lourdes and Fatima combined for America for restoring chastity and purity. The statue and devotion is now totally free, since several months now, of all of the legal encumbrances that were holding up the process of being able to fulfill Our Lady's request. We need some bishop or group of bishops to take the initiative to get this solemn procession done! The prolife apostolate, One More Soul, one of whose missions is to promote chastity has been trying to spread the word about the urgence of fulfilling Our Lady of America's wishes! If anyone has any influence with any American bishops- please please please ask them to work on this ASAP!!!!

Maybe they wait and post the messages from the 8th and 26th together at the end of the month??

Emmett, I've always had a hunch about Christopher Columbus and Our Lady of Guadalupe. I read somewhere that he had a retreat at a shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Spain shortly before his discovery of the Americas. It's interesting that he named the island after Santa Maria (of Guadalupe)... Because if he also named his main ship after Santa Maria (of Guadalupe), then when listing the order of ships according to the order of command we end up with...

1. Santa Maria (possibly of Guadalupe due to his apparent devotion as seen by his retreat and naming of the island)
2. Pinta (paints)
3. Nina (little girl)

Is that a coincidence or what? We should be crediting the discovery of America directly to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Emmett, I made a comment in regards to the Rev 12 sign occurring on the vigil of Our Lady of Ransom around the time of the eclipse on a previous post. When I reflect on this I am reminded of the third secret where Mary puts out the Flaming Sword of St Michael. Perhaps we will be spared from the exacting of justice for a short while at the cost of penance offered in honor of our lady; and maybe even the cost of fullfillment of the third secret vision in regards to the suffering of the Church and the bishop in white.

Sign of hope: I started the 54 rosary novena as you suggested a while back. My mom texted today that she went to confession for the first time after 50 years. I credit it to our Lady of Fatima.

Keep up the prayers and hope in our lady. I have contended with emotions of fear in regards to the Rev 12 sign; but when I recognized the date associated with Our Lady of Mercy (well over a year ago), I now believe the sign to be a sign of hope to the faithful in the obvious troubling times we live in.

RP, the apparitions at Tepeyac Hill happened in December of 1531; Columbus sailed in 1492. While it's probable that Heaven led him, he couldn't have named the Santa Maria for OL Guadalupe, because that apparition didn't happen until nearly 40 years later.

There is a shrine near Guadalupe River in Spain. This devotion begins way before Columbus. Here's a snippet from Wikipedia.

The shrine houses a statue reputed to have been carved by Luke the Evangelist and given to Saint Leander, archbishop of Seville, by Pope Gregory I. According to local legend, when Seville was taken by the Moors in 712, a group of priests fled northward and buried the statue in the hills near the Guadalupe River in Extremadura. At the beginning of the 14th century, the Virgin appeared one day to a humble cowboy named Gil Cordero who was searching for a missing animal in the mountains.[1] Cordero claimed that the Virgin Mary had appeared to him and ordered him to ask priests to dig at the site of the apparition. Excavating priests rediscovered the hidden statue and built a small shrine around it which evolved into the great Guadalupe monastery.

Our lady references herself as Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Tepeyac Hill apparitions. This is how we have her name.

Prior to the discovery of America, there was a popular devotion to OLO Guadalupe Extremadura in Spain. Christopher Columbus was a devotee. In 1531 when the Spanish speaking bishop heard the Juan Diego's story, he though he was saying 'Guadalupe' because of his familiarity with the Spanish Guadalupe while he was probably saying a similar sounding word in his native language.

"Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of three Black Madonnas in Spain. The statue was canonically crowned on 12 October 1928 by Pope Pius XI with a crown designed and crafted by Father Felix Granda."

October 12 is the day Christopher Columbus first sighted land so the Spanish ended up naming quite a few things for OLOG and devotion to her was quite strong among the Spanish explorers prior to OLOG appearing to Juan Diego.
