The New Fatima Revelation and the Prophecy of Sr. Jeanne le Royer

I have just reread a prophecy by Sr. Jeanne le Royer, and was immediately struck by just how similar it is to the vision seen by Sr. Lucia in Tuy, 1944 during an apparition of Our Lady, when she was instructed to write down the contents of the Third Secret. As most readers will by now know, this vision was only recently published in Sr. Lucia's biography A Pathway Under the Gaze of Mary. I will quote the relevant portion of Sr. le Royer's prophecy below, which can then be compared with the 1944 Tuy Apparition:

“…As well as that I can see that the earth will be shaken in different places by frightful earthquakes. I see whole mountains cracking and splitting with a terrible din. Only too happy will one be if one can escape with no more than a fight but no I see come out of these gaping mountains whirlwinds of smoke, fire, sulphur and tar which reduce to sinders entire towns. All this and a thousand other disasters must come before the man of Sin (antichrist)…” (Sr Jeanne le Royer).

Compare the above words of Sr. le Royer to Sr. Lucia's vision below:

"I felt my spirit flooded by a light-filled mystery which is God and in Him I saw and heard: the point of the flame-like lance which detaches, touches the axis of the earth and it [the earth] shakes: mountains, cities, towns and villages with their inhabitants are buried. The sea, rivers and clouds leave their bounds, they overflow, flood and drag with them into a whirlpool, houses and people in a number unable to be counted; it is the purification of the world from the sin it is immersed in. Hatred, ambition, cause destructive wars."
(The Tuy apparition of 3rd January, 1944)

I had composed an article about the prophecies of Sr. Jeanne le Royer almost two years ago (the original of which can be found here), and had linked her prophecies to the Secret of Fatima back then. This assertion now appears to be fully vindicated, so it should be worth reposting the article in full below:

The prophecies of Sr. Jeanne le Royer were recorded in the 1817 book Vie et Révélations de Sœur de la Nativité (The Life and Revelations of the Sister of the Nativity), by Charles Genet. Her prophecies correspond quite closely with many of the hypotheses I forward in my book Unveiling the Apocalypse - which is quite remarkable, given the fact that my theories on this subject were not in any way influenced by this particular source.
Sr. le Royer's prophecies mention mountains "cracking and splitting" after a series of great earthquakes, which she states will take place just before the coming of the Antichrist. As anyone who has read the book will know, in Unveiling the Apocalypse I argued that the rise of the Antichrist will take place following the total economic collapse of America, which I believe will happen as a result of the greatest natural disaster in human history. If the East Coast of the Americas is devastated by the mega-tsunami event generated by the lateral collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands (an event which will fulfill the "great mountain, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea in Rev 8:8), this unprecedented disaster would ensure the total economic collapse of the entire United States. This event would then leave a political vacuum that will provide the perfect opportunity for the rise of the Son of Perdition to world dominance. In turn, I argue that the repercussions of this catastrophe will inevitably lead to the battle of Armageddon, when the world will be destroyed by fire "falling from the sky" (as was warned by Our Lady of Akita).
If we study the prophecies below, we can see that series of events depicted in the Sister of the Nativity's visions corresponds exactly with the hypothesis I forward in the book:

…I see in God that a long time before the rise of Antichrist the world will be afflicted with many bloody wars. Peoples will rise up against peoples and nations will rise against nations sometimes allied, sometimes enemies in their fight against the same party.  Armies will come into frightful collisions and will fill the earth with murder and carnage….

…These infernal and foreign wars will cause enormous sacrifices, profanations, scandals and infinite evils, because of the incursions that will have been made into the Church…”

…As well as that I can see that the earth will be shaken in different places by frightful earthquakes. I see whole mountains cracking and splitting with a terrible din. Only too happy will one be if one can escape with no more than a fight but no I see come out of these gaping mountains whirlwinds of smoke, fire, sulphur and tar which reduce to sinders entire towns. All this and a thousand other disasters must come before the man of Sin (antichrist)…

According to Sr. Jeanne le Royer, some time before the coming of the Antichrist, the world will experience the "nations rising against nations" foretold by Christ in His eschatological discourse on Mt. Olivet (which I argue relates to world wars of the 20th century). After this, she sees the earth being shaken by a series of earthquakes which cause "whole mountains" to crack and split. In the book, I theorize that the eruption of Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands is directly related to the eschatological earthquake which devastates Jerusalem during the Second Coming of Christ. This earthquake is described in the Book of Revelation as the greatest earthquake in human history - which takes place just  before God punishes "Babylon the Great":

"And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath."
(Rev 16:18-19)

The Book of Jeremiah tells us that this punishment will be brought about by the casting down of a "burning mountain", after which, "Babylon" is engulfed by huge tidal waves:

Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, declares the LORD, which destroys the whole earth; I will stretch out my hand against you, and roll you down from the crags, and make you a burnt mountain"....

"How Babylon is taken, the praise of the whole earth seized! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations! The sea has come up on Babylon; she is covered with its tumultuous waves. Her cities have become a horror, a land of drought and a desert, a land in which no one dwells, and through which no son of man passes"...

"A voice! A cry from Babylon! The noise of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans! For the LORD is laying Babylon waste and stilling her mighty voice. Their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is raised, for a destroyer has come upon her, upon Babylon"...

"When you finish reading this book, tie a stone to it and cast it into the midst of the Euphrates, and say, ‘Thus shall Babylon sink, to rise no more, because of the disaster that I am bringing upon her, and they shall become exhausted."
(Jer 51:25, 41-43, 54-56, 63-64)

"Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and will be found no more"...
(Rev 18:21)

"The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood".
(Rev 8:8)

In the book, I theorize that if the world's greatest earthquake took place in Jerusalem, as is predicted in the Apocalypse, this would almost certainly lead to an increase of volcanic activity across the North African tectonic plate, which in turn, could ultimately lead to a devastating eruption of Cumbre Vieja. This would then explain how "Babylon" is to be punished after the greatest earthquake in human history, as is described in Rev 16:18-19. So the sequence of events given in the prophecies of Sr. le Royer fits in perfectly with timeline of events I attempt to detail in Unveiling the Apocalypse
Rather interestingly, the Sister of the Nativity's prophecies appear to be related to the first decades of the 21st century:

…One day I found myself in a vast plain alone with God. Jesus appeared to me and from the top of a small hill showing me a beautiful sun in the horizon. He said dolefully: “the world is passing away and the time of my coming draws near. When the sun is about to set one knows that the day is nearly over and that night will soon fall. Centuries are like days for me. Look at this sun; see how much it still has to travel and estimate the time that is left in the world.“ I looked intently and it seemed to me that the sun would set in about 2 hours. Jesus said “Do not forget that those are not millenaries but only centuries and they are few in number” But I understood that Jesus reserved to Himself the knowledge of the exact number and I did not wish to ask him more. It sufficed me to know the peace of the church and the restoration of the discipline were to last a reasonably long time…

Writing towards the end of the 18th century, Sr. le Royer was told that the "sun would set in about 2 hours", and that these hours represented centuries - placing the significance of her prophecies as relating to sometime around the turn of the millennium. Yet before this "setting of the sun", when the world will pass away, Sr. le Royer was shown that the Church would be restored during an age of peace which would last "a reasonably long time". Given that her prophecies are centred around the turn of the millennium, it seems that the age of peace given to the world before the coming of the Antichrist is related to this exact time period.
The above prophecies of Sr. Jeanne le Royer are fairly well known, having been cited in the books Catholic Prophecy by Yves Dupont, The Prophets and Our Times, by Rev. Gerard Fulton and Desmond Birch's Trial, Tribulation & Triumph. But there is another lesser known prophecy of the Sister of the Nativity which dates the significance of her prophesied events even more specifically to the second decade of the 21st century:

"Woe ! Woe ! Woe to the last century !
Here is what God wanted to show me in his Light. I began looking in the light of God, the century which must begin in 1800; I saw by this light that judgement wasn't there, and that it wouldn't be the last century. I considered, thanks to the same light, the century of 1900, until the end, to see positively if it would be the last. Our Lord made me know, and at the same time made me doubt, if it would be at the end of the century of 1900, or in that of 2000. But what I saw, it is that if the judgment arrived in the century of 1900, it would come only towards the end, and that if the world exceeds this century, the one of 2000 will not pass without the judgment intervening, as I saw it in the light of God."
(Vie et Révélations de Sœur de la Nativité, Charles Genet, book IV, pp. 125-126)

Here, Sr. le Royer tells us that a judgment she was shown in "the light of God" would take place before the 21st century had passed. But what could this particular judgment refer to? The fact that the visionary was shown a judgment taking place in "the light of God" sounds remarkably similar to the words of the Third Secret of Fatima:

"After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and
a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing,
it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire;
but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated
towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand,
the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘PenancePenancePenance!'.
And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people
appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White
‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests,
men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there
was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark"...

In the Third Secret of Fatima, the Shepherd Children were also shown a judgment taking place in "an immense light that is God" - in the form of the final Passover of the Church, which will take place during the persecution of the Antichrist. But the children were additionally shown that this light was "something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it". As we will discuss in some more detail in a future post, the great mirror-like "light" shown to the Shepherd Children of Fatima (which takes place just before the final Passover of the Church) is related to the appearance of the Great Sign foretold by St. Faustina and Our Lady of Akita, which many commentators believe is directly related to the prophecy of the Illumination of Consciences - when people will see the state of their souls reflected back at them as if shown in a mirror. It seems that the appearance of the Great Sign (which will possibly be something like a spectacular cross-shaped supernova) will cause people to deeply reflect and examine the state of their consciences, and will help to fully establish the Second Pentecost. In the Third Secret, the appearance of the mirror-like "immense light that is God" takes place in direct response to the Angel's threefold call for penance before the earth is struck by the flaming sword. This call for repentance will be met with the arrival of the Second Pentecost, when Our Lady will intervene to quench the flames that threaten to consume the planet through the triumph of her Immaculate Heart.
Is it possible then that the "judgment" seen by Sr. le Royer taking place in the light of God is one and the same as immense light seen by the Shepherd Children of Fatima? If so, then the arrival of this event is dated by the Sister of the Nativity to occur before the close of this very century - which is yet another remarkable convergence on this particular time period.
One last striking parallel of the prophecies of Sr. Jeanne le Royer with the theories I present in Unveiling the Apocalypse is the nature of the relationship between the Two Witnesses and the martyr-pope seen by various Catholic visionaries.

“…Antichrist will kill the Pope, probably by crucifixion. As a child of ten he will know more than anyone else in the world and when he is thirty he will begin his real work. Fifteen days after the ascension of Enoch and Eli as into Heaven, terrible catastrophes will come upon the earth: most severe earthquakes, tidal waves inundating much of the earth's surface, culminating in a thick darkness over the entire earth. “

Here, Sr. le Royer foretells the martyrdom of a pope under the auspices of the Antichrist - which appears to deliberately echo the deaths of the Two Witnesses by the Beast that rises from the bottomless pit:

And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.
(Rev 11:7-8)

The mention of the pope being "crucified" is a symbolic link to the martyrdom of the first pope, St. Peter, and also further ties into the Third Secret, where the "bishop dressed in white" embarks on his own via dolorosa, before being martyred at the foot of the Cross in Jerusalem. Sr. le Royer then turns from mentioning the assassination of a pope under the Antichrist to describe the ascension of "Enoch" and "Eli" (Elijah), which further suggests that the identity of one of the Two Witnesses is a Roman Catholic Pontiff. After the martyrdom and ascension of the Two Witnesses in the vision of Sr. le Royer, she is shown "tidal waves inundating much of the earth's surface", which would again tie in with my mega-tsunami hypothesis. In this scenario, the "thick darkness" enveloping the earth would most likely be due to a massive volcanic eruption (i.e. at La Palma in the Canary Islands). This would then   correspond with my theory that the "huge mountain, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea takes place in response to the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses. The water turning to blood after the burning mountain is thrown into the sea recalls the ministry of Moses and the plagues of Egypt - which may also have been caused by a volcanic eruption (see the earlier post The Santorini Eruption and the Apocalyptic Plagues of Egypt).
The Book of Zechariah tells us that a "great mountain" is thrown down by Zerubbabel - who is used by the Book of Revelation to represent one of the Two Witnesses:

Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain.
(Zech 4:7)

In addition to this, the Apocalypse describes a great earthquake taking place in Jerusalem after the ascension of the Two Witnesses into heaven:

But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them. And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
(Rev 11:11-13)

This earthquake, centred on the Holy City of Jerusalem (the place the Lord was crucified), is the same as the eschatological earthquake which splits the "great city" into three parts in Rev 16:18 - after which God punishes Babylon the Great. The Book of Zechariah tells us that this great earthquake, which splits apart the Holy City, will take place during the Second Coming of Christ:

Behold, a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost. And there shall be a unique day, which is known to the LORD, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light.
(Zech 14:1-7)

In turn, the Book of Ezekiel states that after this colossal earthquake in the land of Israel, mountains would be thrown down and God will summon a sword against the end-time enemy referred to as "Gog" during the battle of Armageddon. It is then that the realm of Satan under his servant the Antichrist will be destroyed by fire falling from the sky, as warned by Our Lady of Akita:

But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused in my anger. For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur. So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
(Ezek 38:18-23)

Wow! That's all I can say is wow! As I read the this and got to the part of the light of God and as if like in a mirror and you gave your explanation it was like God took all the scattered puzzle pieces in my head about the new Pentecost and put them rapidly together at once. I literally jumped off oft couch ran upstairs thanking God as if my team had scored the game winner! Amazing post!!!!!

Hi Emmett,

Wow indeed! This is an important post. But I have to admit that I'm a bit confused by one part.

"But there is another lesser known prophecy of the Sister of the Nativity which dates the significance of her prophesied events even more specifically to the second decade of the 21st century"

"Woe ! Woe ! Woe to the last century !

"...the one of 2000 will not pass without the judgment intervening, as I saw it in the light of God."

"Here, Sr. le Royer tells us that a judgment she was shown in "the light of God" would take place before the 21st century had passed."

"Is it possible then that the "judgment" seen by Sr. le Royer taking place in the light of God is one and the same as immense light seen by the Shepherd Children of Fatima? If so, then the arrival of this event is dated by the Sister of the Nativity to occur before the close of this very decade..."

So, what I'm confused by is the mention of this decade, rather than this century. In the quote above "the one of 2000 will not pass away" makes sense from a century-level point of view. That seems to be supported by "would take place before the 21st century had passed." But I don't see the connection that leads to "the arrival of this event is dated by the Sister of the Nativity to occur before the close of this very decade".

What am I missing?

America has exported a lot of filth, I'll grant you. But is she really the unholy harlot, Babylon? In insisting upon that, aren't we in a way disrespecting God who has blessed her so abundantly and let her do a vast (VAST) amount of good for this world during her short existence? We know her evils; rarely do we see the good. Many countries on this earth are indeed very, very wicked.

But Babylon? Worthy of having her inhabitants destroyed utterly by a wall of water?

I hope our dear Lord views us with more merciful eyes than that.

This seems, to me, to be succumbing a bit to a popularist view of eschatology. I seriously doubt that even a conservative historian will write America's history so bleakly.

A worthless, wicked harlot destroying and corrupting the world? Really?

There is no doubt that America has done a lot of good in the world, and God has indeed blessed this country with both great power, wealth and global political influence. Indeed, one might say that God has so blessed America that it has entered into a very special relationship with Him. Much in the way ancient Israel had entered into a covenant with God. It is in this context that we must understand the use of the word "harlot" in the Apocalypse. In the Old Testament, God did not refer to other pagan nations as "harlots" (since they had not entered into a covenant with Him), but rather used this term to refer to Israel itself when it had engaged in apostasy through religious syncretism, and had therefore brought judgment down upon its own head through the rods of Assyria and Babylon. The term "harlot" is therefore used against a nation which has a very special relationship with God, but which has turned its back on its Lord and Master by engaging in apostasy. There can be no doubt that America has been the leading exporter of the hedonistic culture which has resulted in today's mass exodus of baptised Christians from the Faith. The influence of Hollywood and the American music industry in the sexualization of modern culture cannot be overstated, and has led to the average person attempt to emulate celebrity (hedonistic) lifestyles. A situation which has been largely enabled by the introduction of contraceptives in the 1960's. The destruction of Babylon symbolised by a great millstone being thrown into the sea occurs because it has led the children of God into apostasy - an act which America is undoubtedly guilty of:
“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."
(Matt 18:5-6)

Question???........
--------
Is this the only quote in our bible that is incorrect?-
---------------------------------------------------------------------verse 2-------------------
Douay-Rheims Bible

Temple Destruction Foretold

(Matthew 24:1-4; Luke 21:5-9)

1AND as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him: Master, behold what manner of stones and what buildings are here. 2And Jesus answering, said to him: Seest thou all these great buildings?

There shall not be left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.

3And as he sat on the mount of Olivet over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him apart: 4Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall begin to be fulfilled?
There are several roman writings of Jesus's time which state the temple has been torn down to such a degree that the land is as unplowed farmland. I can get the name if desired.

Yet we see the wailing wall being touted as the remaining wall of the temple.

somebody is incorrect. I am betting on the tourist industry of israel.

any opinion?
This is another example as to why i don't believe almost anyone today and the plausability of a controling force running the worlds news.

Hey Chris. From what I understand the Wailing wall isn't part of the Temple structure itself. It's actually the foundation of the Temple. It's not part of the actual walls. So if that's the case (which I'm positive it is) that would render the prophecy correct.

Mark W said...

Chris,

There's even question as to where the original temple stood relative to the current location. There were reports four or five years ago of Roman coins being found under the Wailing Wall, and clearly those wouldn't have been put there in the time of Solomon. The Temple area was heavily remodeled during the period after 70AD, during the Muslim times, and during the Middle Ages. The Temple area was flattened by the Romans in 70AD, but the entire city was destroyed in something like 132AD as well and rebuilt by the Romans. They built a temple of Jupiter on the Temple Mount, and some say they missed - the real location is a bit east of it's current location. But I seem to remember that the foundations of the temple of Jupiter were used for either the Al Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock (don't remember which).

Lots of that is conjecture (and I'm working from memory - and that's a dicey proposition under the best of circumstances), but I think archeologists are pretty certain that the original Temple of Solomon was completely destroyed. The foundation that Joe is talking about is likely post 132AD, though still from the ancient period.

It's worth a trip through Google if you're interested in the history and archeology. There is a lot more than meets the eye.

Emmett Great article! Keep them coming.
Re Medjugorje. Anyone who is daily praying the rosary, fasting during each month, going to weekly (or hopefully daily Mass, if possible) going to confession once a month or once every two months and trying to do the right thing, based on the Gospels - is living the message of Medjugorje. If Medjugorje is a fake, then the secrets that Mirjana is supposed to announce through the Priest she chose in 1986 - will never be announced. If it is real then the priest she chose will publicly announce the event is arriving - 3 days before each event for at least the first 4 secrets. But anyone who is already doing the things listed above, that our wonderful Faith already calls us to do -- is already living the way they should -- and is not in need of the secrets. The secrets, if they are real, are for the unbelievers (those who do not yet know God at all and more importantly - those who know of Him and have rejected Him - the secrets are for them to realize the reality of Good and Evil -- and the reality of God and the fallen angels. Time will tell -- and more then likely we are very close to amazing events in our future.
In the meantime -- prayer, penance and conversion! And more enlightening articles from Emmett.

Emmet -- please keep the articles coming!! As things have obviously now started to unravel -- any new updates are greatly appreciated. I feel that starting in late August - September, October -- it will become even more volatile -- and severe cracks in the economy as well as a more pronounced reality of "cardinal against cardinal and bishop against bishop" will become a blatant reality - connected to all that is coming -- and much of what you have been alluding to in your articles.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Hi Chris,

Not too sure whether this step by the Supreme Court will have any immediate impact. Although Scripture makes it clear that the battle of Armageddon will be caused by an invasion of Jerusalem. This will take place during the time of the Antichrist though, and we still haven't witnessed the period of the triumph of the Church - which must take place before the Beast rises to world dominance.

Dear Emmett: As I was reading 1 Corinthians 13 verses8 through 13 I was struck by your writings about the Illumination of Conscience and how these verses were applicable. ( I use the Douay / Rheims translation of the Bible) Charity never falleth away: whether prophecies shall be made void or tongues shall cease or knowledge shall be destroyed. (9) For we know in part: and we prophesy in part. (10) But when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. (11) When I was a child, I spoke as a child. But, when I became a man, I put away the things of a child. (12) We see now through a glass in a dark manner but then face to face. Now know in part: but then I shall know even as I am known. (13) And now there remain faith, hope and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity. (Verse 12 is spot on!) Cynthia Angelini

Isn't there supposed to be an era of peace before the son of perdition makes his appearance in the world? Didn't Our Lady promise that the world would be granted a period of peace after the triumph of her Immaculate Heart? From what I've read regarding this subject, I believe that we're on the cusp of the minor chastisement. This minor chastisement will be followed by the age of peace which will witness the complete restoration and triumph of the Catholic Church. All Christians will be Catholic as the schism with the Orthodox will be healed and all protestant sects will cease to exist. It is only after the completion of the golden age of peace that the Antichrist appears. His appearance marks the final persecution of the Church towards the end of the world during the major chastisement. We do not know exactly how long it will be after the death of the Antichrist before the second coming of Christ at the end of the world and the general judgment. Some speculate that God will allow a very short space of time for the inhabitants of the world (those who haven't accepted the mark of the beast) to truly repent. Others are of the opinion that there will be perhaps several centuries after before Christ comes again.

Because the word minor is used to describe the coming chastisement, we shouldn't allow ourselves the false assurance of thinking it won't be that bad. Make no mistake about it, this will be the worst punishment God has ever inflicted upon mankind up to this point in history.
The Church will undergo an unspeakable persecution and many faithful will be martyred. There will be more martyrs than occurred in the early Church. There will also be wars occurring all over the globe. I've read that upwards to two thirds to three fourths of the worlds population will parish.

I understand that the chastisement has two parts. Man is the sole cause of the first part due to his arrogance and folly. He thinks he no longer needs God, indeed he has become his own god. Sadly many today even deny His existence. Because man has turned against God and ignored all His commands and precepts, God has simply withdrawn His grace and left us in our foolishness. Over and over again Our Lord and Our Lady have pled and continue to plead with us to amend our lives and return to Him, but we refuse to listen. Because of all the persecution and carnage, God Himself will cause the second part of the punishment by destroying all His enemies in order to purify the world of sin and evil. This is where the prophecies about the three days of darkness fall in.

I say it's time to bring on the Great Monarch.

The era of peace? Often we think of a time without war, which we have not have had. Anonymous at 1:21, you mentioned the coming persecution. Think about this. A priest once advised me that the natural state of a catholic is one of persecution. Are we not leaving a time largely absent of persecution of the church? Maybe the era of peace is really about a time to live our faith freely. What did we do with this time?

Great read! With respect to the quote: "...one knows that the day is nearly over and that night will soon fall", I will relay the following in a series of posts since I am limited by the number of characters I can use.

I once had a dream that was so real and memorable that I believe it was more of a vision while I slept. I was in a hotel room on the 3rd or 4th floor in a small mountainous town with my family. The town was picturesque like a middle-America town in Tennessee. There was a small shallow river running through the town northward through mountainous terrain. I was looking out the window to the north, where suddenly I saw hordes of soldiers creeping out of the woods on the west side of the river, cross the river and disappear into the woods on the east. They were "legion", beyond counting. I ran to a eastern window and looked up the steep incline of a mountain on the east side of the town to see these men toward the top. Suddenly the entire mountain top turned to water and came rushing down toward the town in a tumultuous flood of water rock and debris, heading right toward us in the building.

The bed was against that wall and my daughter and grandchildren were on the bed. Suddenly the wall broke loose as the entire building collapsed against the weight of the wall of water. I saw as I was being swept away, the bed and my family swirling around as we all flowed out in a westerly direction onto the pavement below. Amazingly, my daughter and I (faithful Catholics) landed upright and sitting on a bench on the street facing east. As we washed out of the building, an interior voice told me I would not see my grandchildren until "on the other side". On the bench, we looked down the street which ran southward along the east bank of the river. We saw a ferris wheel on fire, and explosions all around. The air and sky were full of planes dropping bombs that exploded mid-air leaving black plumbs of smoke filling the air. It was like images of WWII in Europe as planes flew overhead. Suddenly the ferris wheel teetered and fell over as people below scattered. I looked toward the north end of town and saw my husband in a panic on the other side of the street. He was an agnostic who waited too long to choose Christ. Suddenly a huge engine the size of a large house crashed in the middle of the north end of the road and its engine, with a fan like that of a jet airplane, spun around as the fan began to suck everything into it. Nothing could escape the whirlwind, and I watched in horror as my husband was sucked into the fan.

Anonymous said...

continued from post above…:

Of course my daughter and I clung to each other in horror without having any idea what to do. Then we looked down in front of us on the sidewalk. A man was sitting right there leaning against a lamppost with his legs outstretched. He looked like a vagrant but was very calm as he gazed at us. He said "NIGHT IS COMING…DO YOU WANT ME TO BE WITH YOU THROUGH THE NIGHT?"

"YES!" we both exclaimed. Then he got up and took us to a sheltered area between 3 buildings which abutted one another, enclosing a small alley area on 3 sides. I believe the buildings faced north, south, and west. He walked behind a concrete staircase that jutted out from the building on our left, and pointed to the hard, glass-strewned area behind the staircase. "Stay here" he said. And that was the end of the dream.

I see these symbols in the dream: a small middle-American town in the midst of the Appalachian Mountains represents America. The mountains represent the protection of God on America that surrounded America. The river through the town represents the grace of the Holy Spirit running through a faithful town. The soldiers are the enemy of the Church and of America and enemies of all that is Good and Holy. They are legion. They cross the river which symbolizes they gain more ground within or through the Church (the river being the Church in this instance). The flood comes from atop the eastern mountain and the dark debris represents the mix of problems and woes overcoming America in a flood. The comfort of the hotel gives way to the wall of water as families are washed away, divided, and separated as events unfold. Christians will land safely with others of like mind, while those agnostics or atheists who refused to convert will be scattered and panicked-stricken without the foresight to call on God. The ferris wheel crashing in flames depicts the end of leisure and entertainment, while the planes, bombs and balls of smoke recalling WWII symbolize a worldwide destructive cataclysm. The motor crashing to the ground represents a totalitarian government pouncing suddenly upon America, and which sucks everything into its engine, especially those who have no where else to turn. The the Lord will appear before us in an unassuming and unlikely human form and He will offer us the opportunity for protection during the black night that is coming. He takes us to the shelter of the Most Holy Trinity (the 3 buildings) and puts us in an uncomfortable place near a staircase leading into one of the buildings (I think the south building). This staircase represents the staircase of Jacob, and the hard ground, the rock on which he laid his head. Also the staircase could represent prayer and offering of our suffering to the Most Holy Trinity. It is definitely symbolic of access to the Trinity and Helps from Heaven.

Hope I gave an accurate account...this dream was about 6 or 7 years ago.

Totally agree with Shoebat's assessment on Babylon John. If one goes back to the seer Maria Esperanza's prophecies you learn that the alliance of Israel and Saudi Arabia in the end will bring destruction. Both countries' plans are backfiring in that region. Esperanza mentioned 2 countries working together to manipulate America into Middle East wars. She warned as did JP II not to get involved. They both were right. Emmett, I believe Babylon is Saudi Arabia too.

I was taught to "let scripture interpret scripture."

Dropping the United States into a prophetic understanding of Babylon is, in my opinion, a massive stretch, straining credulity. One cannot have an inconsistent prophetic hermeneutic like that, otherwise one's entire system crumbles apart.

The argument proposed in this article, especially the final paragraph, carries more credibility:

https://www.raptureready.com/featured/chambers/jc53.html

Further, it is quite a stretch to suggest that because we have "been blessed," (which is a completely subjective viewpoint), we have, in essence, entered into a "covenant relationship" with God such that to break it is apostasy, meriting even being called the biblical harlot of prophecy.

> There can be no doubt that America has been the leading exporter of the hedonistic culture which has resulted in today's mass exodus of baptised Christians

Well we helped develop the infrastructure by which it is spread, no doubt. But none of the great and terrible "-isms" of our age - materialism, atheistic humanism and so forth came out of America. They came out of Europe and her philosophers.

Furthermore, "who exports hedonism the most" is no basis for discernment.

The argument that America is biblical Babylon stands on toothpicks, I think.

Wanted to put a bug in your ear about an insight I had some time ago. It relates events in the middle east with a disaster upon the USA.

First event: France will introduce a resolution into the UN for the creation of the State of Palestine by forcing Israel to surrender Samaria and Judea. IOW, Israel will be split with the land being given to its enemies. The area to be split off comes to about 24% of the total area of Israel. Normally, the US veto in the Security Council would prevent this from happening. However, Obama hates Israel with an almost demonic passion, and will probably work to make the division happen ASAP. He will then cause America to be the first nation to recognize "Palestine", much as Truman caused America to be the first to recognize Israel.

A short time later, war breaks out between Palestine and Israel -- the War of Psalm 83. My great fear is that Obama will order American forces to supply arms and munitions for Palestine to use against Israel. America will be working to destroy the apple of God's Eye.

In punishment, God will cause the New Madrid Fault System (NMFS) to release a magnitude 8 earthquake, similar to the ones of 1811 and 1812. Due to collapsing structures and changes in the river due to the earthquake, all traffic on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers will cease until new channels can be dredged and debris cleared. Every bridge, levy, lock and dam from the Wisconsin-Illinois state line down to the Louisiana state line on the Mississippi, and up the Ohio River to the Pennsylvania border will be shut down until the structures can be declared safe. The entire southeast of the US will be cut off except for a corridor along the Atlantic. This means 24% of the area of the continental US will be split off.

That which is done to Israel shall be done to the oppressor in return.

One thing has me puzzled.

Let's say that we are looking at the end of history before the close of this century. From where we are today, how do we get there?

The "minor" chastisement is yet to come.

From that chastisement, we are supposed to have the Church restored.

From that restoration, I assume we'll see a brief Marian era of peace.

But from that restoration to the end of the world seems to happen pretty quickly. If the Church is restored and the era of peace takes place, we seem to fall right back into the toilet in pretty short order.

Thanks Andrew. I had just read that post. It seems important. It makes sense, since marriage and the family is the very first place that Satan began his assault against humanity in Gen 3. Yes Mark, the final persecution of the Antichrist takes place very soon after the triumph of the Church, which occurs under the auspices of the Angelic Pope and Great Monarch. I find a good analogy in the triumphal entry into Jerusalem taking place just before the Crucifixion of Our Lord. The Church will follow in His footsteps...

jim.carroll said...

@Marianne, I view Walid Shoebat's views on Islam and the Antichrist the same way I view Freudian psychoanalysis: groundbreaking when it first came on the scene, but the field has moved far, far away from where Freud started and you have to be careful trying to apply classical Freudian psychoanalysis to current issues. Likewise, Walid had some very groundbreaking observations when he first began writing (such as his view that the "666" of "The Number of the Beast" could be interpreted as the Arabic script for "Bismillah"); however, his politics have gotten in the way of any valid scriptural observations, as has his firm anti-Catholic views. That makes if very difficult for me to watch his presentations on YouTube.

Illuminating comment about Jesus' Triumphal entry into Jerusalem - totally agree, Emmett. We all know that scripture is to be understood four levels of meaning or 'senses' of Scripture: the literal sense and three spiritual senses - the allegorical, the moral, and the anagogical (that which relates to end times and the after life) senses. At least according to St Thomas Acquinas and as promulgated by the Church for centuries.

Might want to consider this link re: Jesus' walking on water. Oh and, review Phillipeans 2:5 to clarify something in the link.

Hi Emmett - Well, I don't put a lot of faith in Malachi Martin (honestly, I don't know what to make of him...he's an enigma wrapped in a mystery in my view), but I have listened to and read some of his stuff to try to wrap my head around this whole thing. He did come up with an interesting date.

In 1997, in one of his interviews with Art Bell, he said that we didn't have 20 years left before the end. (I honestly don't recall the exact quote.) He also said that the antichrist was also "afoot" in 1997 as well.

With 2017 looming in so many minds of late, it's an interesting little addendum.

jim.carroll said...

@Mark W -- Well, if we're going to toss dates around, on one site we just finished discussing the meaning of Matthew 24:34 ("I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened"). The question was what Jesus meant about "this generation" My view was that Mt 24:34 was a "summing up" of Mt 24:3-33, that "this generation" referred to the generation that was alive when the events described begin to happen.

So if we assume the end of the Time of the Gentiles refers to the capture of Jerusalem in 1967 during the 6-Day War (when Jerusalem was under Jewish control for the first time in almost 1,900 years) AND if we take 70 years (the three-score-and-ten described in Genesis) to be the length of a generation, then we come up with the year 2037 as an upper limit on the year of fulfillment.

(BTW, when it comes to the End Times, I love picking dates. Especially when they're fresh: cut them in half, drizzle them with some honey and some whipped cream -- yum!)

The Two Witnesses are traditionally held to be Enoch and Elijah returned, as neither of these prophets tasted death -- they both were "translated" into heaven. Other commentators link the Two Witnesses to the Two Olive Trees and the Two Lampstands of Zechariah 4. This would indicate a joining of Jewish and Gentile believers.

jim.carroll said...

@Mark W,no, I apparently don't have as much free time as you :) and tend to spend my time avoiding overtly anti-Catholic videos. Having said that, I have to say 1) I doubt highly that Christine Legard is a Freemason, as there are blessedly few lodges that admit women and would not have women of high degree.

But again, that doesn't matter. Freemasonry is occult is demonic. ANY organization which seeks to replace the G_D of Israel as described in Scripture with "The Great Architect" or "The International Monetary Fund" or even "The Universe" is, by definition, an occultic organization and thus allied with the Evil One. The Illuminati Invasion isn't coming; the Illuminati are here among us, and have been among us for as long as we have had worshippers of Maloch and Astoreth. Their fortunes wax and wane as G_D wills them to and whether or not we choose to reject G_D and follow a lesser god-wannabe.

Re: the Louie Verrecchio post, "The Church will doubt..."

I've noticed a pattern with every conspiracy theory writer: they blab on endlessly. The secret videos of priests whispering in bars about things they heard their friends heard in the hallways of the Vatican blather on for an hour. The articles about the Pope's secret beliefs also blab on endlessly.

Mr. Verrecchio bases most of his argument that Pope Francis doubts in the fullness of Christ's Divinity because the Pope said, quoting Philippians 2, that Jesus "stripped himself of his glory." The author is shocked and says "this isn't possible!"

Seriously? That Verrecchio could be that ignorant and still compose a piece with borderline lucidity is what is shocking. That he apparently didn't even reach for the most rudimentary text on what the mystery of the divine emptying entails, theologically, is, well, pathetic.

Maybe someone should point him to here and have him read the different ways Phillippians 2:7 can be translated. Hint: one of them is to use the word "stripped:"

Chris,

I've seen Cahn's work. I'm not sure his math is correct. I've run the numbers from accepted jubilee years in the ancient world, and it just doesn't add up. You can get 2015 as a schemita year, but not as a jubilee year. There are all kinds of off-by-one-bugs on this, so it's actually a bit trickier than it sounds. But I've run the numbers through Excel spreadsheets and so far no luck.

Either way, I think Cahn is onto something serious. Especially given the last two days at the U.S. Supreme Court [of Jesters]. I would not be at all surprised if something really serious happens the week before or after September 13th. I'll be ready to head for the hills at an hours notice. [if nothing else, it's a good excuse to go camping.]

Mark W,
Part of the problem that you have to account for is that some of the Jewish scholars, in the early part of the second century, mucked about with the times and genealogies in Scripture. This was done 1) to discredit the Christians who were showing that Jesus fulfilled not just the prophecies but the timings of the prophecies, and 2) to bolster the claims of followers of Simon bar Kokhba (Son of the Star), who lead the final Jewish rebellion in 132AD, that HE, not Yeshua ben Yoseph, was in fact the Messiah. I'm not sure just how many years were removed, just that it was somewhere around 47.

Mark W said...

Hi Jim,

I found two sources that are pretty decent looking, but I don't have the spreadsheet handy just now. One source had a date in the 220's AD, and that fit with one from the 140's (don't hold me to the numbers).

One big question is the number of years to count off, and are they inclusive or exclusive. One source says the 50th year is the jubilee, one says the 49th (7x7).

On the other side of that coin, I did find one 49 year combination with a source that led to 2015 as a Jubilee, but I can't determine if the source is legit or not.

I did find one from Josephus as well, but that would have been before 47AD, so thanks for the info on that. I won't spend any more time on the ones prior to 47.

Math is relatively straightforward as most subjects go, but it's awfully easy to mess it up.

Marianne,

Thanks for the post about the sacred astronomy guy. I skimmed all 8 of his videos (they are long and slow).

I don't accept some of his conclusions given that he's so wrapped up with Garabandal, but he does have some interesting insight on a couple of points. It never occurred to me to use lunar years instead of solar for some of the timing. When you get down to the nitty-gritty details, his astronomical ideas are interesting and may provide some important insight, but his analysis is no better than anyone else's (and no worse). I don't think we'd survive a brown dwarf passing between the Earth and the sun. The Earth would be pulled out of it's orbit.

If you remove Garabandal from his videos, he loses a lot of steam. I still like Emmett's work more, but Yague does dovetail with Emmett in some cases, it seems.

Thanks again for the info,

"The Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi, had explained that, in effect, the 'feria quarta' about Medjugorje had not yet been carried out. ... This is the place where the case is examined. Members of the "feria quarta" have not yet received the material, so it does not yet know the text prepared by the commission..."

And thank you for being so Christian as to hide your glee when commenting on this (erroneous) report.

Hey fellas thanks so much for your good manners. It's nice to discuss all this without someone poking fun. I found it remarkable that Yague's astronomic calculations for July 31, 2017, is supposed to be the date of the abomination desolation from (Matt 24). It also agrees and matches the anniversary date of the previous two destructions of the Temple of Jerusalem in 9 AV. Now that is wild! Yague more often follows Emmett in the order of the end times. He feels the sign of the woman, which he goes back to the Virgin of Guadalupe for discernment, is in the year 2017. After 3 1/2 years which is exactly 1,239 days a blow against Satan happens, and the end of times begins in December 21, 2020. It is really fascinating. Yague does a great job explaining how the Virgin of Guadalupe is the New Jerusalem with the crescent moon in her feet. And how Jesus spoke of the Temple of His body. Which is of course the common error of the Evangelicals and Jewish scholars of today on thinking the Temple means a physical building. The next Abomination desolation may very will be against the Eucharist. "She shall crush his head and you will strike her heel." Her heel is her Son. And she has many son's here on earth, including the Pope. Satan will attack her children for 3 1/2 years. "...and then the woman will be given two wings of a great eagle and fly into the desert..."
I really liked Yague's calculations. Hope you read them Emmett.

Hi Emmett,

I was able to finally get an affordable copy of Yves Dupont's Catholic Prophey: The Coming Chastisement, and have only read a bit of it so far but have found it pretty intriguing.

My first question/comment is about 20.23 "When Our Lady shall lie on our Lord's Lap, Then England will meet with a strange mishap".

Yves associated this with a Feast of Our Lady occurring between two Feasts of Our Lord, with the most likely Feasts of Our Lord being Good Friday and Easter Sunday with the reference in the prophecy to the Pietà. I thought maybe the prophecy could refer to a date where the Feast of Our Lady takes place specifically on Good Friday.

Looking at a list of dates for Easter Sunday, 27th March 2016 stands out to me as that would have The Feast of the Annunciation, March 25th and arguably the principal Marian feast, falling on Good Friday, which seems to possibly correspond to 20.23.

Also, I think I've read in articles about how the date of Christmas was arrived at to be December 25th that all the prophets of the Old Testament were thought to have died on the same date as their conception on Earth, living their life here to an exact full year, and that the early Church Fathers believed this of Jesus as well, so that the original Good Friday would have occurred on the date of His conception, March 25th, making any time that Good Friday falls on March 25th an especially special year.

The second thing that really struck me was in 29. Abbot Joachin Merlin's prophecy. The book says it is from the 13th century, but it would appear from online sources that he actually lived from 1480 to 1541, but in any case in his prophecy about the Angelic Shepherd healing the Great Schism between the Latin and Greek churches, one part, and especially one line, *really* jumped out at me, which seems to credit the Divine Mercy directly as promoted by Pope St. John Paul II with Divine Mercy Sunday proclaimed in 2000, and his promotion of Sr. St. Faustina's Chaplet, with bringing about the triumph of the Church through this Pope, and crediting praying the Chaplet specifically with the Eastern Orthodox Churches coming back into communion with the Catholic Church.

This prophecy gave my serious shivers with it's seeming reference to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy 400 years before it was revealed to Sr. St. Faustina and promoted by Pope St. John Paul II.

I won't copy the whole prophecy below, but just the part that really jumped out at me, that seems to allude to through the praying of the Chaplet, referred to as "the favour of divine mercy", the schism between the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches will finally be healed, the healing of the schism by the Angelic Shepherd being mentioned just before the line referencing the Divine Mercy.

It makes a lot of historical sense, too, I guess when you think about it, the source of the healing of the Great Schism coming out of Poland that is, which if I'm not mistaken is one of the only Slavic countries, along with other West Slavs like the Czechs and Slovaks, that stayed true to the Catholic faith when most of the others, the Byzantine Empire, Russia, most of the South Slavs other than the Croatians, etc., fell into schism, for the Chaplet to be revealed to a Polish Saint in Sr. St. Faustina, and then Divine Mercy Sunday and the Novena of Divine Mercy to be established in the jubilee year in 2000 by a Polish pope as well. Here's the quote anyways, it's just a small part of the prophecy:

"Before being firmly and solidly established in the Holy See, however, there will be countless wars and violent conflicts during which the sacred Throne will be shaken. But through the favour of divine mercy, moved by the prayers of the faithful, everything will succeed so well that they shall be able to sing hymns of thanksgiving to the glory of the Lord. In order to obtain these happy results, having need of a powerful temporal assistance, the Holy Pontiff will ask for collaboration of the generous Monarch of France."

So the line "through the favour of divine mercy, moved by the prayers of the faithful... ", unless I'm completely out to lunch, seems to predict the Chaplet and St. JPII's promotion of it. and the praying of it by the faithful as *the* necessary precursor to the Angelic Shepherd and Great Monarch, the healing of the Great Schism between the Latin and Greek churches, etc.

This really blew me away, and sets the importance that the Pope placed on establishing Divine Mercy Sunday and encouraging the devotion to the Divine Mercy in 2000, the jubilee year as a gateway to our new century and millennium, as being very timely and suggesting that perhaps it won't be too far into the new millennium, depending on how many people pray the Chaplet, before the Marian age of peace ushered in by the Angelic Shepherd and Great Monarch will occur, including the reunion of the Catholic and Orthodox churches.

On this last one especially I'd be interested Emmett on any thoughts you have on this. I did a site search as well as checking the index of your book Unveiling the Apocalypse and didn't see a specific mention of this Abbott Joachin Merlin's prophecy.

Thank you in advance,
Jason

(Sorry about that -- made an error in last post and you can't edit after you post.)
If you are interested and don't mind reading the book on a computer or ebook, you can download Yves Dupont's Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement in PDF format at this web site:

Jim,

Thanks so much for the link! I wish I'd know about this PDF before I spent so much on the hard copy on eBay, but with the things I'm finding in it so far as I wrote above, it's still worth it. But again, thank you in any case, and to anyone else that might see your link.

Hi Jason, I think it is also interesting that the Orthodox are set to hold a "Great Council" in 2016. I don't put too much stock in some of the prophecies cited by Dupont though...

Thanks for your insight Emmett. The more I researched this Abbott Joachin Merlin the more inconsistencies I found about his origin, the century he was from, etc., so maybe I just jumped at a line because of my devotion to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and was looking too hard for something that wasn't there, I know I've done that in the past. Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my query, I appreciate it.

Even though it's origins are dubious, it is still theoretically possible for this prophecy to contain a degree of accuracy. Anyone is capable of receiving the gift of prophecy (even demons), and as you say, the mention of divine mercy in this regard is interesting here. So the anonymous author of this prophecy could have been on to something in regards to the significance of the Divine Mercy devotion. But it would be a mistake to rely too much on a prophecy which is of an uncertain source, as sometimes the truth is mixed with lies in order to sow confusion amongst the faithful. The "Abbot Joaichim Merlin" this prophecy is ascribed to is actually Joaichim de Fiore, the famed Cistercian abbot whose works on the Apocalypse were condemned as heretical after his death - largely because he forwarded a sort of spiritual millenarianism with his idea of the dispensation of the "Third Age" of the Holy Spirit. His personally holiness is not in question though, and he was never condemned as a heretic himself - rather it was just his ideas, and he was never given the opportunity to be corrected during his lifetime. In fact he is a blessed. Joaichim's works were hugely influential on later millenarian movements, such as the Franciscan Spirituals, and a number of pseudonymous works were issued in his name by heretical groups long after his death, such as De Oneribus Prophetarum, an Expositio Sybillae et Merlini ("Exposition of the Sibyl and Merlin"). I suspect this is the source of that particular prophecy.

Greg said...

Wow, thanks again for sharing your expertise on these things; I did see in the index of your book two mentions of Joaichim de Fiore but wasn't sure. Like I said there seems to be conflicting information about who this fellow was on the different websites where I found mention of him, this was one of the common biographies, but I couldn't find independent confirmation of it in any of the usual sources I'd go to like the Catholic Encyclopedia and such, or that he even necessarily even existed, which makes the likelihood that the prophecy was as you suspect from a heretical group make sense, as well as the murky and contradictory histories of the man the seem to be scattered here and there in cyberspace;

"Abbot Joachim Merlin (born circa 1480, died 1541) was a canon of Notre Dame; in 1529 he became the grand penitentiary after being imprisoned for two years in the court of Francis I, and he was exiled in Nantes for a year because of his opposition to the Lutherans. Upon his return to Paris in 1530 he became the vicar-general."

If I could trouble you for one last thing Emmett, when you mentioned that some of the stuff in Dupont's book is of possibly dubious nature, it made me kind of realize that in wanting to study more on this I might not be being very selective on what I'm exposing myself to. Other than your book and Desmond Birch's, I've bought but still haven't gotten to End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life Paperback by Fr. Charles Arminjon, which if the endorsement of St. Therese of Liseaux is accurate seems like it would be safe information to expose myself to.

I was planning on getting the three books written by Rev. Joseph Iannuzzi as they received good reviews on Amazon, but am now not so sure, like I said, I don't want to be exposing myself to any falsehood or something that the Church wouldn't approve of me to read, although I remember seeing Rev. Iannuzzi on EWTN which makes me feel safer reading his work, but not seeing any of his works in the bibliography of your own book gave me some pause.

I guess in a nutshell Emmett, do you have anything like an unofficial "approved" reading list on this subject that you personally would recommend? I know this may be an unfair thing to ask, but I wouldn't be following you as an infallible source of advice, but you've been around this block already and could maybe just be a help in pointing out any pitfalls or works in particular to avoid?

My spouse is a Third Order Disc. Carmelite and has expressed her wish that I would spend my time reading the The Last Conversations of St. Therese of Lisieux or the letters sent between Maurice and Therese, that they would be a better use of my reading time for my spiritual growth... but I've had an interest in prophecy since the First Gulf War, when my mother pulled out an old story I had written in grade two back in 1977 which was about America invading Iraq, which would be the beginning of what would develop into a terrible war. I'm not claiming to have any gift of prophecy by any stretch, but my mom, who was blessed with the Gift of Discernment, thought that the story was strange enough to keep it all those years in between.

Again, many thanks,
Jason

Hello yet again,

I am truly sorry to be making a pest of myself, but with your mentioning to me that the Orthodox Church is holding a "Great Council" in 2016, and so many people seem to be buzzing here in your comments sections about 2017, especially with it being the 100 year anniversary of Fatima, it made me wonder about Leo XIII's "100 years" vision which he had on October 13th, and the last appearance of Mary at Fatima being on October 13th.

My wife and I were planning on making a pilgrimage to Fatima next year for the 100th anniversary on October 13th, but I unfortunately having taken quite ill so it's kind of thrown a monkey wrench into those plans. I guess since I'm babbling on with 4th post in a row, I might as well go off topic here and shoot for the moon if you don't mind the digression.

I was in a bad car accident in 1990 which broke three of my vertebrae and left me in the hospital paralyzed from Th2 down for approximately six months, from September 1st until sometime the following spring, the three shattered vertebrae being Th2, Th3, and, Th4. I'm not claiming at all that I had any kind of miraculous recovery, though I did pray for the intercession of, the now Bl. as of 2004, Charles I and IV of Austria-Hungary for my healing. I was living a very bad life at the time, my girlfriend actually told me the day after the accident while I was strapped down to a wooden board they had to duct tape me to while removing me from the wreckage, a board I remained secured to for those 6 long months, that she was pregnant with our daughter Brittany. I was very blessed to have a nurse who was a devout Catholic working on the night shift that spoke to me often after hearing me sobbing that second night in the hospital, with the first night being taken up by the many hundreds of x-rays they took of my spinal injury from every possible angle. She helped plant the seed through our many late night talks and her encouragement that by 1995 had me discerning a vocation to the priesthood, that while it didn't work out, gave me year of formation and spiritual direction that was a true blessing. OK, I'm kind of jumping all over the place here, but my spinal injury and paralysis seemed to just heal up, my orthopedic surgeon said the paralysis for that half of a year must have been due to swelling as the vertebrae were knitting up. Though the discs between the three vertebrae have remained ruptured which has given me a lot of pain over the years, I thought I was out of the woods as far as any permanent damage goes.

But I was wrong. Skipping ahead to 2010 I began to have a lot of digestive issues and problems with nausea, which had my general practitioner stumped, but involved stomach ulcers, distention, frequent fevers, and severe constipation which led to hemorrhoids, fissures, and developing diverticulums in my large intestine, and subsequent bouts of diverticulitis. Over the past 5 years my illness progressed to the point that I have been mostly bedridden since October 21st of 2014, and considerable pain, etc. I've had three surgeries, but none had seemed to improve things, but at least through those my surgeon finally figured out what had gone wrong.

Due to the car accident all those years ago, there was specific damage to my vagus nerve, through which the brain communicates with the digestive system, especially the stomach. All the issues were caused by this root problem, the vagus nerve has become completely severed so my stomach, small, and large intestines have become completely paralyzed. I'm on experimental medication that, here in Canada at least, is only through Phase 3 out of 4 phases of testing, so it's not on our formulary, and therefore not covered by our drug plan, so my finances have been slipping a little further into debt every month as the drug is quite expensive and I am on a reduced salary being on long term disability. It may not sound like it, but I'm not complaining, not really. If it's God calling for me to be what I've read about as being called a "victim soul", I am ready to accept that challenge and offer my pain for the reparation of sin, and especially for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. But with still having 3 little ones in the family, our daughters, I also have familial responsibilities that require me to get better and back to work. My dear wife, too, she's had to take on a second job for us to try to make ends meet.

My first meeting with a gastroenterologist is scheduled for the end of November, and I'm trying to remain hopeful and optimistic that she may have some new treatment or drug that I'm not aware of that may keep the pain in check enough for me to be back out in the real world again, and spending time with my wife and girls outside of the small world of my bedroom that I'm stuck in for the majority of the time. I've read of a type of pacemaker, a very new and not very well tested procedure, that can be put in that uses electrical impulses to trigger gastric motility in the stomach and intestines, but SaskHealth doesn't cover this procedure until a person is basically on their death-bed, which to me by that time seems a little late, but that's government health care for you. We've considered the option of going to the Mayo clinic in either Arizona or Minnesota to possibly get the procedure done, but we don't have a lot, and because of my wife's vow of poverty with being a Third Order Disc. Carmelite, we haven't really saved much over the years since we were kind of required to live simply and give a lot to charity, like Canada's Development and Peace.
I hate, too, that I can't accept my pain graciously as a saint would, but require taking oxycodone to deal with the agonizing pain through my digestive system due to the extreme constipation, the cramps caused by the Constella pills, and the diverticulitis and diverticulosis, plus the 3 anal fissures that cause so much pain, as well as the bad headaches caused by my having to use nitroglycerin patches. I hate that the use of opiate pain killers cause me to get very loopy, interfering with my prayer life, and I even believe impeding my spiritual development and inner life. I know St. Therese of Lisieux as an example wouldn't have resorted to taking oxycodone I don't believe, and my mother when dying of esophogeal and stomach cancer won't take any pain killers though her doctors wanted her to take Dilaudid, something many times stronger than heroin, because she viewed it as her cross to bear given to her from Christ. But I haven't been able to find the strength to get through this without pain killers, I'm in such agony without them that I'm not even able to communicate with my family, so I don't know what to do or what decision God wants me to make, what He is calling from me to be and to do.

The real point I have been building up to, I believe I needed to give so much background information, that I believe you Emmett, you are a holy man, and your mouth is very close to His ear, as I feel many of your readers are judging by the comments sections and the discussions that I've read. I know this isn't a prayer request forum, but I felt kind of led to tell my story here, and just to ask if any people may feel a calling to pray for the Lord's will to be done in my life, I would appreciate it so immensely. I've had many blessings poured out on me since October with so much time on my hands being bed-ridden, among them discovering your book and blog Emmett, developing an devotion to the Divine Mercy, discovering and trying to pray the Chaplet of St. Michael daily when I overcome my laziness enough to do it, but mostly the time to pray for others. But I cannot discern if this is a cross Christ has given to me to bear that I should be taking up with graciousness and charity, or if I should be praying for the intercession of Bl. Charles of Austria again for a healing of a type that medical science seems not to be able to grant me, I don't know His will, and I would really appreciate it so much if you Emmett could keep me in your prayers, even if only one time, and any readers that may stumble upon this could do the same, not necessarily for the pain to end, but that I can finally know what course to take, what Jesus and also Our Lady want from me right now, to be a victim soul perhaps, or to be healed so I can be a dad and husband the way I used to be before my life turned.
OK, well I didn't mean to get so very far off track, but the Holy Spirit, or maybe just my own desperation, I'm not sure, just told me "Jason, Emmett would not mind you asking for his prayers". But going now back to my original quesiton for you; do you think the 100 years that was revealed to Leo XIII where Satan's power would be less fettered by God to test the world, could that 100 years perhaps, with the same date of October 13th, have started "ticking down" on October 13th, 1917, with a corresponding end-date of October 13th, 2017? Perhaps the 100 years was best personified by the October Revolution in Russia, and the 100 years itself, that power given to Satan, could that have been the source of the power behind the rise and spread of Communism?

With the Consecration of Russia to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart, it made me wonder if this Orthodox Council you mentioned Emmett as taking place in 2016, and my discovering the Feast of the Annunciation falls on Good Friday, also left me wondering if the Council is that strictly a Russian Orthodox one do you know, or is it to be with all the Orthodox Churches involved, and headed by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I?

I'm just really taking some wild guesses here, and perhaps this is well-trodden ground with others, and with you as I've only discovered your writings fairly recently and am a bit of a n00b when it comes to all this stuff, but if the hundred years of Satan's increased influence expires in 2017, and perhaps right on October 13th, 2017, and though it's hard to believe that things could happen that quickly after all these centuries of schism, if there were a miraculous leap forward and a healing of the Great Schism sometime in short succession after October of 2017, how much of an indicator would that be that Pope Francis could be the Angelic Shepherd? Could the Great Schism be healed by a pope that *isn't* the Angelic Shepherd? If not, could the promise of Our Lady over the Consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, if it was indeed carried out to her satisfaction, and if enough people have converted and devoted themselves to the rosary and the other things she asked of us, could a reuniting of the East and Western Churches with the East returning back to the Catholic Church, could that mean that the minor chastisement has been avoided?

Anonymous said...

cont...

With the way our culture is, the materialism, the apostasy in Western European countries especially, the abortions, the breaking down of the institution of marriage as something Sacramental, all of this, it's hard to imagine that the conversions that Our Lady asked for could possibly have had enough people heed the call, but I guess it's difficult to say what is going on in each individual heart out there. I guess if there is any commentary that you might be able to provide on these things that have been swimming though my head, your opinion on the possibility of Leo XIII's century of Satan loosed being from October 13th, 1917, to October 13th, 2017, and what a miraculous healing of the East-West Schism took place in rapid succession after that date, what implications could that have regarding the coming Marian age of peace. Is it too late, are the prophecies of the minor chastisement going to take place regardless of any possible healing of the Schism?

Sorry if this is all too much to be picking your brain about in such rapid succession, I just really value your wisdom, and with these comments section it feels like I have real access to such a subject-matter expert, it's hard to resist taking advantage of that.

And again, if you and anyone else who may chance upon it, your prayers for me to discern what God wants me to make out of this illness I've been given, it would mean the world to me. I hope this doesn't seem like an instance of putting God to the test, but if I somehow were to receive a healing like I did back in 1992, that may or may not have been more than just an ordinary knitting up of bones, etc., if things just somehow fixed themselves, I vow that I'd make that pilgrimage to Fatima for October 13th, 2017, no matter what I need to do to get there, just as an outward sign of my gratitude... I would go no matter what if I could, but being mostly stuck in bed 24/7 I just would have no way of getting there unless something big were to occur. I'm not complaining, trying not to, I know many people have it much, much worse than I do, but it's enough of an illness that it feels like my little ones and my spouse are suffering as much as me because they miss their old-style dad, the one not stuck in a bed, I just would love to have guidance to live my life accepting this, or know that I should remain fervently praying for a healing, and asking others to as well

Pax Christi, you admirer, again,
Jason

p.s. I again, I know I am clogging up your comments section, but I've had so very little contact with the world outside of this bedroom for going on nine months, I share too much, I know, but with the prayer request, I am feeling desperate at times, and I just got a sense that it would be OK, that you wouldn't be too upset with me doing this.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Jason, I am so sorry that you have been given such a heavy cross to bear. You truly are a victim soul, and I pray that you will offer your sufferings as a sacrifice for others before Our Lord. This is the time where you will be closest to God, as He shares completely in your suffering. My prayers are with you, and I implore anyone reading this to also offer their prayers for you. I feel that your prayers during this personal trial will pour forth innumerable graces for others in your intentions. So please pray also for me.

Emmett O'Regan said...

I'll attempt to answer your other questions as well Jason. Just give me some time to read through them properly. They seem pertinent...

Emmett O'Regan said...

First, I would suggest that you stick with your intuition in staying away from any books by Fr. Iannuzzi and Kelly Bowring, as they are seriously in error when it comes to the subject of the Millennium and the era of peace promised by Our Lady of Fatima.

Emmett O'Regan said...

Jason - The Great Council of 2016 will involve all the Orthodox Churches. It will be interesting to see what direction they will take. There does appear to be an element of prophecies of Fatima that are related to a 100 year period. We know this from Sr. Lucia herself, who compared the consecration to the request to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which occurred 100 years later and was unfortunately way too late. The minor chastisement is conditional, but I think that a good argument can be made that this chastisement actually has already taken place, in the form of the Second World War, if we are to take the Second Secret of Fatima at face value. If this is the case, then we are at the very cusp of the prophesied triumph of the Church.
"The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the Pontificate of Pope Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father."
Many Catholics have huge hopes and aspirations for the year 2017. Let's just pray that they will be vindicated.

Oh, Emmett, you really eased my conscience. I was so worried that I rambled on much too long, it is a bit of a side effect of the pain killers that I have to take, which I wish I didn't, I hope it isn't a rejection of the destiny God has given me, that I was too scared for the last 4 days to check back for your response, thinking you might give me a chastisement of your own for cluttering up your message boards. Instead I find you treating me so kindly, after reading your book and seeing that as a true reflection of your character I feel bad I doubted you.

I don't think I would be able to accept being a victim soul without my wife's knowledge of this type of thing through the Carmelite order. I will most definitely pray for you, and I sure hope that 2017 might be the beginning of the Marian era of peace as well. I just happened to post on your most recent blog topic in a more orderly manner about my intuitions regarding things.

Since I had last written, I came across the fact that Pope John Paul I was recognized as "Holy Father" by Sr. Lucia when he was still only a bishop, I don't know if he was a cardinal yet, but I don't think he was even that then. Could it be that Sr. Lucia recognized JPI from her vision of his martyrdom? It seems like a likely explanation to me. He also met privately with her after this, and who knows who they discussed. If he was made aware of his impending martyrdom, this would explain his reported reluctance to accept the mantle of pope, as well as his comments about him expecting his papacy to be a short one, and making the seemingly odd decision to include a 'I' behind his name, almost like a summons to his successor to carry on his work, and even his papal name.

I hope you don't mind me restating some of what I already did here, as well as my beliefs, right or wrong, on what might be occurring after October 13, 2017 on the other post, I just had some new insights occur to me, I don't intend to keep re-starting my whole thesis over and over, it was just for the one time. It made me so happy when you suggested that perhaps the Second World War and it's aftermath might have been the minor chastisement itself, something that's occurred to me. My father, who just passed away on June 11th, was born in 1941, and suffered a lot after the war as well, they escaped from a Soviet labour camp, he and his mom, brother, and two sisters, and you can just imagine the horrors visited on them as ethnic Germans by vengeance seeking Soviets, I won't repeat them here. But the sheer number of people killed by wars caused both by Nazism/Fascism and Communism, the scale, the particular suffering of the clergy, it seems to me to be 'big' enough to be considered a chastisement.

I sometimes doubt the power of my prayers as someone who is suffering physically more than the average person, and when I do, I always get an answer back saying, "I am listening to you, Jason". I have an online friend from a poetry website who while spiritually thirsty, has thus far been trying to quench that thirst through the occult, Wicca, the use of psychedelic drugs. Some people might wonder why I'd have a long-standing friendship with someone so mixed up, but I have such sympathy for her. Her own father, who was an intensely fundamentalist Christian, abandoned her and her mother while she was an infant. She hitchhiked from Minnesota to California to meet him for the first time as a teenager, and he completely rejected her. So I could understand her aversion to Christianity.

... cont. 1

Recently her mother suddenly took very ill. Since my mother suffered a lot before she died from cancer, and I quit university to help tend to her at home, I tried to help her with some life-experience I had, and she followed my example and brought her mother home to die there instead of in a sterile and cold hospital room.

I asked her a couple of weeks ago at the start of her mother's sudden downturn if she minded me praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for her and her mommma. She said it was ok, that though she didn't share my beliefs that she respected them. My wife had prayers said for her and her momma at St. Peter's Basilica, and we had our little ones pray as well for them when they say pray their rosaries before bedtime.

This Sunday my friend let me know the nurse said it was likely that her momma would pass away that day. I hadn't been able to sleep since Friday because of the pain I was going through, and was very tired, but I told my friend I would pray the Chaplet unceasingly for her momma until she passed on. I tried my very best to do this, but despite my best efforts fell asleep sometime in the early afternoon. When I woke up, I looked at the clock and saw it was 3:21 CST, and I felt so badly that I'd not just broken my promise but missed 3:00 pm, when I usually always try to say a quick prayer in respect of Our Lord's Passion. My wife said it was OK, I'd done my best, and that as long as it was still within the hour of His passion that I didn't let anyone down.

Well, on Monday my friend told me that her momma passed away exactly at 3:21 CST, we both live in the same time zone in the summer as Saskatchewan doesn't use daylight-savings time. This felt like a confirmation that my prayers really were heard in Heaven. My wife said that as I'd prayed that Chaplet on Sunday at 3:21 she had a sense that something very special was happening but she didn't make mention of it.

And now, just today, my friend wrote me with these words, and I have never, ever known her to ever pray: "let me speak in a hush... i have screamed for too long
and look what its brought me, oh let my words soften! let my voice come straight through my heart after filter of my mind... purified. i believe in the power of prayer,
the magic in words, so i pray now in silent humble". She also identified having a new sovereign in whom she will solely place her trust from here on in. It seems too good to be true, but this seems like a really miraculous conversion, maybe just a beginning, but one I could not imagine happening before it did. My heart just rejoiced and I felt again, Our Lord was telling me, "I am listening to you, Jason".

Whether this change in my friend will stay, and develop, only time will tell that I guess, but my call to prayer has again been reinvigorated. I replied to my friend's message simply quoting her Romans 8:28 as I felt it was time for Our Lord to speak rather than myself: "We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose."

I hope you didn't mind me sharing, I did so so you would know your prayers for me are already helping me Emmett, and that I promise I will remember to pray for your intentions, especially at the times when I am suffering the most. God bless you, brother.

p.s. I already ordered the books from Fr. Iannuzzi from Amazon unfortunately, but I trust your judgement on these matters and will stay far away from them, at the very least until I know your book and Desmond Birch's much more completely. In fact, I might just get rid of them right away. Which reminds me of something else that occurred after I first heard back from you. I had one book in my library that I purchased many, many years ago, I think around 21 years ago, called "The Other Bible". I bought it purely for research reasons because it contained things like The Protoevangelium of James, and other such writings before a time when they were so readily available for study on websites like New Advent, there was no such thing as the internet at the time. But that book, it contained all the Gnostic writings as well, it always gave me an uneasy feeling, such that I hadn't even opened it up in many years even though I'd never read through all of it.

I discuss this with my wife, and in her typical Irish get-it-done way immediately replied, "Let's burn that thing!". I said we could just throw it in the garbage, and she said, "No way, we don't know whose hands it might find it's way into that doesn't know better, and it full of falsehoods." So I managed to get out of bed, got it from our library, and we started a fire outside and burned that, as well as two other books I had that always gave me an uneasy feeling as well, The Spear of Destiny by Trevor Ravenscroft, and it's sequel, The Cup of Destiny. As I was tearing the pages out of 'The Other Bible', out dropped a bookmark from an occult bookstore located in a neighbouring city; I'd forgotten where I had to go to originally purchase it, a place called Awarehouse Books, that always smelled of foul incense and even in my early 20s when I was living a wholly secular and un-Godly life, not that I am anywhere near Godly living now, I am still mired in sin, but I at least try now, even then that place gave me the absolute creeps when I was in it. It felt strangely soothing in a very spiritual deceptive and almost seductive way, that bookstore.

Well, we have our home blessed by our priest, have had an enthronement ceremony of the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart, have holy water from St. Peter's in a fount at the front door, etc., many blessed objects, but after getting rid of those books, I felt a new peace and security in our home that I didn't even recognize was missing until it had arrived... and that's all thanks to you Emmett, it would never have occurred to me that those books were not meant to be in this home until your more general warning about deceptive texts!

Jason, Beautiful story about your friend and her mother! Thank you for sharing!

I'm not very hopeful re: the coming Orthodox synod/council. The Moscow Patriarchate was established as an independent patriarchate after it became clear that Constantinople would be attacked and there was a good chance it would be overrun. Establishing a new patriarchate in Moscow would ensure the continuation of Orthodoxy. After Constantinople fell, the Tsar at the time (can't remember the name) reportedly said, "Constantinople was the Second Rome, Moscow is the Third Rome. There will be no other."

Moscow takes its view as the last bastion of Orthodoxy VERY seriously, and considers the Greek Orthodox (Constantinople) Patriarchate as having abandoned its role and authority after the conquest. It is deeply suspicious of the Greek Orthodox's conversations with Rome, since by doing that it is flirting with a heterodox and apostate Church. There are a number of autocephalous Orthodox Churches that have traditionally been associated with Moscow who have expressed their desire to change their orientations towards Constantinople. Moscow disapproved. Moscow disapproved VERY strongly, and since then has not passed up an opportunity to spread division and dissention among the Orthodox world and has attempted to force those churches and others that it considers to be in the Moscow "sphere of influence" to look to Moscow for leadership.

Get the popcorn and prepare for fireworks. Should be fun.

Oh, and regarding your books you destroyed: on Catholic Answers Forum about 8 years ago, there was a woman who wrote in for support. She and her husband had been experiencing setback after setback for several years, and she was asking if perhaps her family was cursed. I wrote back, suggesting she pray for discernment to look for objects that possibly had something evil attached to them. She later wrote back and said that as soon as she read that, she remembered a book on astrology that was in a closet upstairs. She hadn't read it in years, and only kept it around because it was a gift from a friend. She immediately went upstairs, wrapped the book in a blanket so she wouldn't have to touch it, took it out to the burn pit on her farm, and burned it. Haven't spoken to her in years, but it looks like her situations immediately got better.

Thanks again for your kind comments Jim, and, wow, I thought I was half-crazy with those books I got rid of, it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who has had an experience like this.
